This is more than due diligence. Actions speak louder than words. The trip is on his dime! Many moons ago I pointed out that he has a close connection, dating from HS, with Miami staff. Jake said it was only an asst. coach. I could be wrong but I seem to remember that it was also Larranaga. Miami is going to be good and they have a top 5 or 10 recruiting class. Coming from Virginia, maybe he is sick of rotten weather? On the other hand, he is not going to start for Miami? Maybe he knows that although he will start for us, unless he is red hot Rico will finish? I'd guess that the result is up in the air.

As to chemistry, he will want his shots but he also knows that his assist numbers need to improve as do other facets of his game. It is a safe assumption that he got the word during his NBA rejection. With a 40% 3 pt % he is obviously not taking bad shots.

Miami cannot offer him more than Syracuse without committing NCAA infractions.

No clue, and no longer care. If he wanted to be here, he should be already. Due diligence has a due date in my mind. Just thinking he's more about himself than the team. Which was always obvious as this is his last audition for the league.

Every player wants to make it, but the good ones also realize it's a team. I don't know the guy, but bad vibes especially ignoring coaches. I believe you also, so possibly telling players things then dragging it out speaks to me negatively as well.

Roll the ball out and let's go. Moyer gets more minutes, and loves SU. Don't want to end up being the school he uses for a one year NBA audition if he's not here to win. He seems to not be that person. Maybe just his Dad. No clue. Just gonna wait until a decision is made and keep my thoughts to myself now. After this uplifting post.

Guys don't sweat it. Our team believes he's coming to Syracuse as of around 3:30 today. I literally saw the text before heading to the airport. It was kind of cool.

Of course it COULD have been that meth I was smoking ;)

He will not be at Miami as an NCAA athlete.

Now, of course they could throw him some hookers and he changes his mind but he wants to win. Unless Miami is a top 10 team with him there he just is not coming.

My source is so confident she basically told me to stop asking her about it.

No matter how anyone tries to spin this, if he tells the SU players that he's definitely coming... and then later says he's just "fielding interest"... that's a dick move. Plain and simple. Only way for a positive spin is to hope that his dad is a helicopter psycho.

Spin? 99.9% of your opinion is predicated upon assumptions.
 
Let's say that the dad doesn't like the Syracuse situation and the kid does. Wouldn't seem out of the question that the dad might be trying to get the kid to go elsewhere. Hey Andrew, remember those coaches? Well, they are at Miami. Before you commit to Syracuse, let's go down and see them. Maybe they will blow us away. That might even be viewed as being a good dad in some circles.

Do we even know for a fact that dad doesn't like us, that seems to be unfounded speculation.

It sounds like they just see the situation differently. The player sees an opportunity to play in a Final Four, knowing that being a key part of a Final Four team will only enhance his draft status. It sounds like the dad wants him to be promised to be more of a focal point.
 
Even though Gillon is also a 5th year transfer, this guy has a totally different vibe. Feels like we are selling our souls and trying to hire a mercenary... Maybe it all works out and final result is a NC, but I would still rather have a team made up of Orange hearted players like Matthew Moyer...

We wouldn't have to go the mercenary route if guys didn't leave after one year, its the way college bball has become.
