Any Chance of Coaching Changes?

The OL has been a nightmare. Recruiting misses, training issues, injuries, scheme, guys in wrong positions, missed assignments, penalties...
Draw any conclusions you want the end result has been a train wreck. I hope Cav pulls it together. Based on his failure at Nebraska, and his results at SU im not counting on it.

I think he could help with the OL and really help with preparation of game plans and in game adjustments.

DM was very good in those areas.

O Line toughness would improve as well, probably a few more 15 yarders but I am ok with that. 3 less false starts gets us one unsportsman penalty.

Marrone had some great game plans in his time here, type of plans where you pretty much knew the game was over after the first

My issue is also cross training. I know they do it for depth but instead of being great at one position you are mediocre at all.

I think he's good lord'ing your comment that he's given up and the administration doesn't care... so suddenly after changing both OC and DC following a 5-7 year.

Maybe Cavanaugh is a terrible line coach, I don't know. But I'm fine giving him another year with Bleich and some more healthy humans playing along the line. Vs having to move a fullback to start at guard.

I can definitely see how I came off dramatic after re-reading haha. Wasn't my intention BUT the OL has been bad for two years now. It's time to see what else is out there. I respect that Cav has a lot going on right now but between the lack of depth and how they've played the last two years, I think it's time for a change.

If the oline isn't fixed this year, no one gets a next year.
True.

If Dino was going to hire someone outside of the Baylor tree I don’t know why he didn’t go after Atkins in the first place. Good recruiter, good coach and has NFL coaching experience.

How much NFL experience does this staff have total? Wasn’t Bear’s Dad saying kids like that?

I don't know what to make of Cav. One thing is certain, something just isn't right. I feel like he's done a good (not great) job recruiting, but I'm having a hard time seeing the player development, which to me is 1000x more important at the position. Guys are clearly confused, I see almost no man protection schemes which are simpler to execute, it's all zone blocking and guys simply aren't executing. That said, alot of things have been amiss these last two years and I don't think it's all on the OL or the coach. QB play certainly hasn't helped the OL, the injuries have been harped on ad nauseum, and the defenses we face in the ACC don't make anything easy either. I think you have to factor all that in.
Would I like to see a high profile OL guy hired? He'll yeah. Is that going to happen? Probably not. I think Cav is what we got at this point so either get on the bus or shut your yap. I ride with the guys we got.
