Anyone else concerned

It happened to us last year, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, what goes around comes around and all's fair in love and war and whatever clichés I can add. Let's obliterate them.
Someone recently said “ It’s come full circle “

I believe our $6.5m goes to the ACC to be part of the bowl pot that then gets distributed equally. So we’d get about $400k for this bowl. I think only the CFP participants get a larger cut of their bowl payouts.
I thought that schools kept their bowl game $$ starting this year to satisfy FSU and Clemson or is that only for the CFP games?

I could be wrong but I thought it was for CFP games.

I personally don't mind that this will most likely be a blowout; last year we suffered the worst loss in FBS bowl history. IDC that many of you said it didn't matter, it did. Block S.

Now we will get to be the hammer instead of the nail.

And yes this counts (obviously) and it will be the most watched game of the entire season. Even more than the Miami game. Prime time on Fox.

LFG.

I don’t think it will be the most watched game of the season.

If the opt outs and coaches leaving etc didn’t happen then it probably would have.

But there is little to no juice behind this game. The only fans watching will be some of the Wazzu fans and most of the Cuse fans.

The national audience by and large, won’t be interested in watching a game where one team can barely put a JV team out there with no coaches

There is a lot of bowl action that has not and will not generate interest beyond the loyalist.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't. Boca was last year.

Last years Boca bowl had viewership of 1.05 million.

I could be wrong but I would be shocked if that was the largest tv audience of the year for us.

This years Miami game had over 2 million viewers.

Have to think our viewership for the holiday bowl will be in line with the Boca bowl

Yup don’t disagree at all.

Which is why the Holiday Bowl will not be our highest viewed football game this season

It didn’t matter then. And still doesn’t.

Boca was the most watched game last year, I checked the ratings. I think Holiday will be over 2m. It was 3.5m last year.

Bowl games are watched as tradition….. I would expect 70% of the viewers will have no idea that WSU is short handed. I myself ( who watches a lot of college football ) had no idea who Mateer was until 10 days ago. Having said that , I don’t expect last episode of Mash #s .

But, but, the Holiday is better than the Gator

I watch CFB every night its on and have it on from 11am until I fall asleep on Saturday night. I had no idea who Mateer was.

Since I know a little something about this topic...

It won't be. And the Boca bowl was not our most-watched game last season.

Last season our games vs. Clemson, Florida State, Purdue, BC and UNC all drew more viewers.

This year there were 11 FOX prime time games that drew less than what we drew for the Miami game.

We'll get a decent viewership for the bowl, relatively speaking. But I suspect our Miami, Stanford and Pitt games this year will have outrated it.

I have watched every second of every bowl game so far.

Many people watch bowl games, because many people bet

Its hard to watch more than 110-20 games on a say during the season so numbers get stretched out. Not that hard to watch 2-3 games a day during bowl season

it will be out most watched game by a mile, the viewership numbers may not reflect it but it will be. Because every bar will have our game on, while during the season almost every game had a dozen others on to compete with.

Dude, I do this for a living. Have some humility.

p.s. Bar viewing counts in the ratings.
