As I was listening to Mike and Mike interviewing Dabo about the little chat he had with his punter, I am reminded of a story Joe Namath tells.

He had just thrown an interception and he came off the field and slammed his helmet on the ground and sat down at the end of the bench. Bear went over to him, sat down and put his arm around Namath so that everyone would think Bear was giving him fatherly advice or consoling him. Bear said, "Boy, don't ever come out of a game like that again, or you're gone."

IIRC there's another story that Bryant suspended Namath before an important game over the ever-popular "violating a team rule". There was a lot of agitation among the Tide faithful that Namath be allowed to play. Bryant said "Here's your choice, either he doesn't play or I don't coach." Namath quickly said, "I'll sit this one out."

I still remember a Namath interview where the journalist asked Namath, "How did a kid from western Pennsylvania end up at Alabama?" This was back when recruiting was a lot more regional.

Namath said "Have you ever seen the women down there?".

"I can't wait until tomorrow I get better looking every day" - Namath
