Here is a ranking of teams we have played so far this year by RealTime RPI:

Marquette-9
Louisville-14
Georgetown-15
Florida-29
Connecticut-31
Notre Dame-37
Cincinnati-43
Marshall-44
North Carolina State-50
South Florida-52
West Virginia-57
Seton Hall-67
Bucknell-91
Stanford -96
Pittsburgh-98
Virginia Tech- 115
Villanova-120
Manhattan- 150
St. John’s -156
Providence- 157
Rutgers- 163
George Washington-185
DePaul -197
Albany - 212
Eastern Michigan-242
Fordham -243
Tulane -250
Colgate - 295
(of 344 Division 1 teams)

Note: Tulane won their first 8 games and were 9-1 when they played us: they then lost 15 of their last 19 games. Of their 13 wins, one was against a 14-14 team and the other 12 were against teams with losing records.

Here is a ranking of the teams we will be competing with in the Eastern Regional, also by Realtime RPI.

Ohio State- 7
Florida State-11
Vanderbilt-18
Southern Mississippi-21
Wisconsin-23
Gonzaga-26
Harvard-34
Cincinnati-43
Kansas State-49
Texas-51
West Virginia-57
St, Bonaventure-73
Montana-75
Loyola of Maryland-78
UNC-Ashville-99

If we were to match these teams to their closest equivalents from the schedule we’ve already played, the Eastern Regional would look like this:

Marquette 9 (Ohio State 7)
Louisville 14 (Florida State 11)
Georgetown 15 (Vanderbilt 18)
Florida 29 (Southern Mississippi 21)
Connecticut 31 (Wisconsin 23)
Notre Dame 37 (Gonzaga 26)
Cincinnati 43 (Cincinnati 43)
Marshall 44 (Harvard 34)
North Carolina State 50 (Kansas State 49)
South Florida 52 (Texas 51)
West Virginia 57 (West Virginia 57)
Seton Hall 67 (St Bonaventure 73)
Bucknell 91 (Montana 75)
Stanford 96 (Loyola of Maryland 78)
Pittsburgh 98 (UNC Ashville 99)

Our RPI is #1.

We beat all the teams on the left of the above list and can beat all the teams on the right side of the list. But we also lost to Notre Dame and Cincinnati and won by single digits vs. Marquette, Louisville, Georgetown, Florida, Connecticut, Marshall, South Florida, West Virginia, Stanford and Pittsburgh. So getting to the Final Four won’t be easy but there’s nobody we need to be afraid of.
