What makes no sense is that he has one more minute than JT, but 49 more poyints (102 vs 53). Hopefully when JT is home in Charlottesville that his mom will yell at him for not being as aggressive as Bell. We knew that some of the sophomores would improve over their freshman year, but how many picked Bell as the one.Not a criticism, just very funny to me
I think it’s pretty early in the game to know for certain if he’s improved or not. I think both have improved. They just have different strengths. What makes no sense is that he has one more minute than JT, but 49 more poyints (102 vs 53). Yeah, they're both definitely better. Taylor has been way better on the boards than expected (although it's a discussion for another time how sustainable winning can be for us if we're looking to him to lead us in rebounding). Bell has expanded his scoring ability and is coming around as a defender.I think both have improved. They just have different strengths.
I'll keep saying it - Bell is excellent at getting himself into scoring position, and Taylor is pretty bad at it.What makes no sense is that he has one more minute than JT, but 49 more poyints (102 vs 53). Taylor’s release is much slower than Bell’s. He almost has to wind up to get a shot off. What makes no sense is that he has one more minute than JT, but 49 more poyints (102 vs 53). I think Brown will lead us in rebounding when all is said and done. Not many people have discussed his growth, but he’s been very good despite starting the year banged up.Yeah, they're both definitely better. If Bell was rebounding like Taylor is right now, we're probably looking at an All-ACC player.
I think we need him to end the year as our leading rebounder.I think Brown will lead us in rebounding when all is said and done. Not many people have discussed his growth, but he’s been very good despite starting the year banged up.
He can drive when need beNot a criticism, just very funny to me
He’s too mentally softI think we need him to end the year as our leading rebounder.
At one time I thought Benny had a shot.
I agree. I would add that Bell has less conscience and more confidence. He is ready to fire.I'll keep saying it - Bell is excellent at getting himself into scoring position, and Taylor is pretty bad at it.
It's not a coincidence Bell scores so much more. He has a much better feel for getting himself in scoring position. I know there's a narrative around Taylor that it's unselfishness/he should be more aggressive, but it actually would be really hard for Taylor to score much more than he does now, playing the way he does now on offense. He's more limited there than it seems.
JT's first two games in Maui he had zero 0points while playing over 25 minutes a game. I too hope some home cooking will give him a boost along with some hometown fans. Before we get too excited over Bell, I recall his 1/10 on threes in the Gonzaga game. He is definitely improving so let's recognize it but hope for some boards. What makes no sense is that he has one more minute than JT, but 49 more poyints (102 vs 53). Meh, still not impressed with Bell 75% of the time. He’s a three point volume shooter and not much else for the amount of time he’s on the court. Starling has better rebounding and steal %s and more points produced despite not having a jumper. Bell has the worst d-rating among non walk-ons.
As an aside Brown leads the team in D-rating AND O-rating.

I get what you are saying, but I think gets his points in chunks and is average at d. If he was coming off the bench and doing that I think it would feel differentMeh, still not impressed with Bell 75% of the time.
