Who is the best head coach in the ACC?
  • Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech $2.6 Million
  • Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech $2.5 million
  • Jim Grobe, Wake Forest $2.4 million
  • Randy Edsall, Maryland $2 million
  • Jimbo Fisher, Florida State $2.8 million
  • Dabo Swinney, Clemson (Clempson) $2.1
  • Mike London, Virginia $2.6 million
  • David Cutliffe, Duke $2 million
  • Larry Fedora, North Carolina $2.5 million
  • Al Golden, Miami $1.75 million
  • Dave Doeren, NC State $1.8 million
  • Steve Addazio, BC $1.6 million
  • Scott Shafer $1.3 million
  • Paul Chryst, Pitt $1.75 million

Cutcliffe or Randy Edsall.

I don't know though Beamer's had a hell of a run.

that is a very tough question

Frank Beamer due to the longevity of his run at VT. Some new comers might end up better but that hasn't played out yet.

I think it's a toss up between Swinney and Fisher. I think Fisher is a better recruiter but he does have a better resources, but Swinney obviously gets his fair share of talent. On the field I think they pretty much push.

It's close but I think I would give a slight edge to Swinney because I like high charisma guys, because I think if you can inspire your players then you can make up for lesser talent.

Chrystal getting paid Golden $ at Pitt is nuts, but, bet your * Al's in line for a raise. The job he's done even with the self imposed sanctions is commendable.

I'll take Jimbo all day but he's certainly had more to work with than nearly everybody on the list. There's 5 or 6 guys on this list that can coach my team any day.

I think it's one of Cutcliffe, Swinney and Golden right now. Beamer has been a hell of a head football coach for many years, but is clearly showing signs that his run is now starting to wind down.

Jimbo has the best talent in the entire country. Not trying to take anything away from him, but when you out athlete everyone you play...it helps.

Edsall? Good to see that you have a sense of humor so early on a Monday morning. ;-)

Cutcliffe would be the best Offensive guy, but not sure hes the best coach.

if Fisher wins the NC, then obviously hed be the de facto best.

Swinney has too many big time Ls, but hes right there.

pound for pound id probably name Golden.

Beamer is the best coach emeritus.

sadly edsall will be the best coach on the field on saturday.

and i have a feeling his staff is better than ours too.

while grobe may have been better this past saturday as well, i had a feeling his staff wasnt up to par. and judging how they basically just stuck their head in the sand and said 'this isnt happening, this isnt happening...' when campanero went down, i guess my gut was right.

Edsall loves kicking the shite out of Syracuse too. I still think Edsall is a good coach, they are coming off a buy week, rested a few injuries. It will be a very tough game to win, IMO.

i imagine he will be throwing the kitchen sink and blitzing grandma at us as well.
