Biggest game since Missouri in 2012

I'll be blunt. I do not think we are going to win tomorrow. In fact, I think we lay an egg.

But I also think we win the last three.

I just feel FSU is due for a big game.

I loved that game. Nassib to Lemon TD on busted coverage in closing minutes. One of that class's best moments.

Not sure that's it. I think it's more that the fans are unaccustomed to optimism, especially considering the opponent. So they're trying hard to not get too hopeful.

Disagree, this is still a dangerous team if they get any qb play. They are very talented and loaded in other positions but haven't found a qb, the catalyst after Franciois went down. One of these weeks they are gonna snap out of it with some decent qb play.

The biggest game to compare to mizzou in 2012 is next week vs. Wake.
 
This is a game that you have to win. Take the names off of the jersey's, erase the stars next to the player, and people are thinking this is an easy win for Syracuse.

Personally, I will be pretty disappointed if we do not win. You aren't going to get many chances to go into Tallahassee and come out with a W. There will probably be even less chances to say you beat Clemson AND FSU in the same season. Everything is playing out in our favor.
FSU 1 big play away from packing it in
True Freshman, back up QB, who has struggled mightily
A FSU defense that has been equally as bad
Syracuse with an experienced stud QB
Syracuse coming in with momentum after upsetting #2 Clemson
Syracuse not only playing for a bowl game, but jockeying for position a top the division.

You MUST capitalize on this situation. It will not come around too often.

Whenever we beat a high quality opponent a key factor is that we've got the emotional edge. I don't believe we'll have the emotional edge this time because FSU was embarrassed badly last week, their fans are laying into their coach, their fans will boo them out of their own stadium if they lay an egg, and one more loss means no bowl. Their backs are against the wall.

They'll have an emotional edge to match ours, but can they execute? I think they can on defense, we'll need to play our best game of the year on offense to have a chance. However, I'm skeptical that FSU can muster up any significant offense. They're down to 4 scholarship WRs. One of them is a freshman and another hasn't played a down this season. They've got two freshman lineman, a freshman RB, and a freshman QB who doesn't know half the offense. I'll be shocked if they can score 24 on us. That's why despite being on the road I think we've got a chance to pull the upset. I think if we can establish a viable running game and don't giveaway turnovers we win this.

As disappointing as FSU has been, to 'expect' a win in their house is unrealistic imo. I fully expect a loss while holding out a reasonable hope for a win. So while VT and Clemson were great, Mizzou does apply now - Show Me we've arrived.

I’m really nervous about this game because I want to win it so badly (and gave us 0.0% chance before the season).

The more I read the more I think we can do it. FSU will come out ready to play, but I don’t think they can sustain it over 60 minutes. First (or second) sign of trouble and they may not recover.

I think the only team that can beat SU tomorrow is SU. Limit the mistakes as much as possible and we win it.

Have you watched FSU play this year? They aren't a QB away from being a top 5 team. This is no where near the team people expected them to be. They are missing they star RB as well. Defensively, they have been horrible. If you took away their name people would have a much different perspective. Also, I don't think people are giving credit to how good our own team is becoming. They have played a brutal schedule, against some of the best defenses in the country (3 of them on the road), and they have been in every single game basically a play away from winning. This year Syracuse is the better team. Plain and simple.

Ish, I think you get an undeserved bad rap around here, but this is an incredbly poor post on your part. Being optimistic isn't being delusional, the same way that being a defeatist pessimist isn't being enlightened.

We just had a bye week, where we were able to physically recuperate and watch extra film on our opponent. Said opponent got annihilated by BC last weekend. So which team do you believe is in a more advantageous position heading into tomorrow's game?

Nobody said the game was going to be easy. But some of you are ready to roll over and play dead as soon as the going gets tough. I think that we can and will win tomorrow -- and if we don't, the season isn't over, nor are our bowl hopes lost. That I believe that we have a CHANCE to win this game--at Florida State, on the road--is a testimony to how far this program has come.

Exactly. "Delusional" is a ridiculous label. I'll say it again...This isn't the same FSU everyone thought they were going to be in the preseason, and it's much more then just not having Francoise. Their team is basically eating themselves from the inside out. Their are players in open rebellion against Jimbo. There are some that think he lost the team. 35-7 vs BC is a lot more than missing Francois. Blackmon is a terrible QB. Akers is good, but he's not Patrick. FSU has an OK defense, but they aren't on the same level of Clemson, NC ST, Miami, or LSU. This game is a step down from those 4 and how did we fare against them? I really hope Syracuse pulls this one out because this team gets no where near the respect that they deserve. This is easily the best team we have had since 2012, and before that you can go back another 8 years. This is a very winnable game, that I will be disappointed if we don't capitalize.

Side note: No team has beat both Clemson and FSU in the same year since UNC in 2010. Would love to add Syracuse to that.
