Boeheim is smart… probably should have listened to him.

My problem is that we are ranked
#101 on KenPom (16th in ACC)
#86 on Evan Miya (13th in ACC)
#85 on Bart Torvik (13th in ACC and 2% chance to make March Madness

We were favoured by 36 points combined and won by 6, that simply can’t happen. As of right now we are one of the ACC bottom feeders which should never be said. For us to make March Madness we have to move up 50-70 spots on KenPom which is extremely unlikely.
These sites all use a ton of data, so the data actually doesn't matter until we're 15-20 games into the season. Obviously the start has not been great but there's no point in even looking currently as they use too much historical data which is useless in the portal era.

Good thing they are using historical data or it would look worse.

Perhaps you're right but he was a coach not an administrator and you could argue other than Pitino he really didn't have a lot of assistants become good HC's.

At the end of the day I'll support Autry 100% not much else you can do.

This probably won't go over well here, but Pitino was at Syracuse for only two seasons and, IMO, wasn't at SU long enough to really be molded, developed, etc. by JB. JB was just starting off as a head coach and figuring things out for himself as to what type of coach he was going to be, MO, wise, etc. Due to same, I don't know how influential JB's coaching tactics, strategies, etc. shaped etc. Pitino. I don't think I've ever heard/recall any national media types mention Pitino being a JB protege, etc. What does typically get mentioned, is that he was JB's first assistant HC, and that honeymoon story heard over and over. I don't think I've ever heard Pitino say that it was JB that taught him the ropes, etc. and that he became the coach he became because of Boeheim's influence & tutilege.

Now, Hop, GMac and Red have had numerous years under the guidance of JB, and their coaching tactics, etc. will be tied to him for the duration of their respective coaching years.

So, in regards to your sentiment that JB "really didn't have a lot of assistants become good HC's," I would argue that he hasn't had any, at least not to date. Hop failed at UW and was let go, and, of course, the jury is still out on Red and GMac. Brendan Malone failed in his short stint as a head coach, and, for the most part, was a life time assistant in the NBA after leaving SU.

In the number of years that JB was at the helm at Syracuse, and with all of the success, I find that, let's just say, interesting.

Do people forget that Boeheim lost to these teams for the last 3 years ? And people are losing their minds over 2 close wins with Red and want him fired?! Newsflash SYRACUSE HASNT BEEN GREAT FOR A LONG TIME. You guys wanted better recruits and Red is about to have two top 30 recruits and just got an All American. And 2 years into a completely new team and everyone is insane, when the team is 2-0. And it’s so clear how many of you have never played a minute of meaningful basketball in your life with some of these takes about the team and what goes on
Borderline delusional some people

I’m fine with patience. But Red was on the staff for our decade of demise ahead of him being named HC, especially as associate HC. So either he was partially responsible or he was an empty suit - neither is good.

He didn’t make the tourney last year. Cool. Not his guys.

This year? Barely beating two teams that will ranked in the 300s.

I hope Red turns this around, but pretending things are going well is not going to work.

And that’s what we’ve been doing this year since we landed all the guys we have.

So, I hope we’re going to be ok. I have seen no evidence that we will.

You know what can be argued borderline delusional? The fact that SU basketball hasn't been ranked during the regular season come January 1st since 2014. And, that hiring a life long assistant, one that had been with the same program during this entire duration of aforementioned unranked status, and thinking anything other than the status quo was going to be the probable result.

I don’t think the last 2 games were okay by any means. But they lost those game in the past and these guys didn’t. Thats my only upside to this thing. I want what I’ve seen in practice to hit the court in games and right now it’s not. But I think the lineups are creating some big issues as far as who to play with who. And yes I know about the defense lol

Who do you think needs to be our rotation from what you see in practice?

Are you sure we're not just looking good in practice because we're playing against ourselves?

Ha I thought about that too. It’s more the intensity. Or lack there of. Ball pressure. Overall physicality.
