Boeheim on Cowherd's show re: Lebron

Eh, at this point, I think LBJ is probably better than Oscar was, but I'm too young to have grown up watching him play. And you can put Russell ahead of LBJ if you want. Definitely an argument for it. It's tough to compare a center to a Point Forward though.
Oscar and LBJ are two totally different players. Oscar was more of a finess player. In fact, I don't believe there has ever been a BB player with the skill And the size/strength of LBJ.
As an addendum, in SI a couple of weeks ago, Matt Barkley, USC quarterback when asked if he thought LBJ would be a good football player, said he'd love to have him as a receiver because all he'd have to do is throw it within 10 feet of him and he'd catch it.

Yeah, but they were similar numbers wise. Oscar was in that Magic/LBJ mold where he was a very big ball-handler back in his day. And they were all guys that put up scoring, rebounding, and assisting numbers. Easier to compare those two than comparing Russell, who was basically a defensive specialist at the center position, to someone like LBJ.

I wish Russell played in an era where there were more stats being kept track of. We'd at least be better able to quantify his defense. They didn't even track blocks when he played!
