Bowl Games Yesterday

Did you guys know that there were actually bowl games being played yesterday? Honest to God, I had no idea. I had to go Christmas shopping with my wife and spent much of the time checking on the SU-Nova score on my cell phone. Never gave bowl games a thought. I've usually watched all the bowl games, including the low-level pre-Christmas exhibitions, but this year bowl games never entered my consciousness. Has this happened to anyone else? How could I have missed the Potato Bowl this year?

Goofy? Not really. I've been a college football fan for more than 50 years but this year I've just lost track of much of what is going on outside the ACC and to a lesser degree the other P5. I don't follow the entire college football landscape as closely as many posters, but I think I'm more than a "casual fan." I wonder if my indifference to much of what is going on outside the P5 (or to college football at any level) is happening to others? I'm probably not articulating this well, but it is a serious question.

The only reason I knew... I happened to check the TV listings thinking there might be a decent college basketball game or two on the tube. Saw a few football games listed and watched a couple briefly. Fit it around the SU basketball game.

I usually do the Yahoo Bowl Pick Em thing, but this year myself and the dozen or so others that usually participate in that group seemed to be not interested.

So I'm with you MaxwellCuse.
