Bowl possibilities?

That seems to be a week to week thing though. Sometimes it’s dead in the water. And when it is, they have no answers.
That's how it looks. I think he has wanted to get that freshman up to speed all season and now he is. Have to see next week against UNC.

For lower bowls, I don’t think we’ll go anywhere but Military. They seem to be enamored with us.

I’d say pinstripe is a lock for next level, but I don’t see the appeal for the bowl with us being there weeks before. Who knows.

Above that, seems to be too early to tell.

Syracuse vs Oregon in the Sun bowl would generate some real excitement and ratings. The colors would be crazy.
East coast vs west coast. ACC vs Pac12. Orange is the new fast vs the quack attack. Dungey against his home state that over looked him.

With all the people from CNY living in North Carolina the Belk Bowl that would be my pick.

Syracuse could go anywhere at this point but some places are more unlikely. Camping World in Orlando would require us winning out imo. Belk is very unlikely, they always pick Southern and have good teams in Virginia, Nc St, Va Tech, etc to pick from, that’s a no go for us. Sun bowl is probably our ceiling unless we keep winning every week.

This would be huge for recruiting as well. Beating Oregon would possibly help us land Seven McGee. I think McGee is leaning Cuse in the early process but this could be just the win that would put him over the edge

I think 3-1 could potentially get us Camping World depending on other teams of course. If we win out and defeat that Notre Dame team I have my eyes set on a bowl much higher than Camping World. I would be thinking Peach Bowl

Also, terrible jersey vs terrible jersey...

NC state could win out. We could, as well, with the biggest tests coming against ND, and BC. If we win at BC, we win the tie breakers, and finish runner up.. (yes, I'm putting the cart before the horse). Virginia could win out.

In that scenario... Virginia loses to Clemson in the ACC championship game. Whose in line for the better bowl? Cuse or Virginia?

(I skipped Vtech and Pitt based on overall record)

Sb nation on ND:

It is time to prepare yourselves for a full-bore Playoff crisis involving Notre Dame, is what we are saying. It might also be time to prepare yourself for “Syracuse is a quality loss” as an argument, because the Notre Dame defense will give up serious yardage at times. This is also saying that Syracuse is the last, best hope between the world and Notre Dame getting housed by Alabama for the second time in a decade.

I feel like any true Irish fan secretly wants us to win that game so they can (still) make a good bowl (that they have a shot at winning), claim that they're being discriminated against when <insert 1 loss team here> makes the FF, and not get their doors blown off by Alabama.

Losing to Syracuse would check a lot of boxes for ND.

ND better worry about Northwestern first, that team has a way to show up big at times. That said, they also have a way to be a what the heck as well.

Just want a game against a power five team we haven’t played in a long time; Oregon would for the bill (lol!) nicely. If they were ranked that would be a bonus.

That would be my preference also- someone we typically wouldn't see or haven't seen in the non-conference schedule. But this year, I'll be happy regardless since we've gotten that "haven't made a bowl since..." off our back.

maybe worth another thread but what year did the bowl eligibility essentially become "6 wins"? Wasn't on the board in 1994 but we won 6 by October 22nd. i know the standards have changed over the years but what year essentially? 1999 We won 6 and got to the bowl that year.
