Bowl possibilities?

Hypothetically, if we won out in November, could we play in a New Years Six game?

(it's just a Monday morning hypothetical, please no one get unnecessarily emotional with a "just focus on Wake!" response)

I think the BC-SU game is going to end up being a play in game where the winner plays in the Sun Bowl and the loser plays in the Pinstripe.

This assumes there are no upsets.

SU beats Wake and Louisville and loses to ND.
BC has to play at VT, at home against Clemson, at FSU and then at home against SU. Let's say they win both road games (questionable) and lose to Clemson.

Then SU and BC would both be 8-3 (5-2) heading into the final week of the season.

If BC loses one or both games on the road, they are probably a lock for the Pinstripe.

If SU loses to Wake or UL (and ND), they are probably a lock for the Pinstripe. I can't see Pitt playing in NYC, or a southern team when there are two good options in the NE.

SU or BC will play in the Pinstripe. I bet they would prefer to take BC, given how many times Syracuse has already played in the bowl and that they will ahve layed in Yankee Stadium against a more attractive opponent 5 weeks earlier.

Whoever finishes the season better gets the warmer, more prestigious bowl.

If both have at least 2 more losses to end the season, maybe we end up at the Military Bowl and BC ends up in the Pinstripe. But we are going to have to put up at least 2 losses to drop that far.

If we run the table, we probably get the Camping World Bowl. Although ND might take it from us because we beat them head to head. That would be bad. First world college football problems...

we've both played in pinstripe 2x (BC and Cuse). I think they want one of the three (BC/Cuse/Pitt).

Eric15 and I were asking absolute best case scenario's. If Virginia wins the Coastal, and falls to Clemson, where do you see them winding up?

SU/OU in the Sun bowl would be a huge ratings win for the network. I don't think any other team or combo would come close.

Focus on one game at a time.

(I’m joking. We’re fans. Dream away.)

Can I just get a bowl game on a Friday/Saturday please? Music City or Peach sound terrific thank you

I'd love to stay away from the Pinstripe Bowl or Detroit as much as possible. If it's any of the other locations that have been mentioned, I'll be ready to book my tickets.

It depends on a lot of other things, really hard to say. Heck. it is still possible that the Coastal might end up in a tie, with all the sports finishing 3-3 in conference play. I think someone pointed that out yesterday and called it the nuclear winter scenario.

Anyway, to answer your question, I think they are going to finish 2-2 in their last 4 and end up at 8-4. They are not known for traveling, and the ACC has a slot to fill relatively close by in the DC metro area. If they end up at 8-4, I think the Wahoos end up at the Military Bowl.

It could be us if we finish 1-3, which unfortunately could happen. We only have one home game left and our road record in conference play is not good.

Pretty much what I'm thinking as well

If we win out we play in the Peach Bowl. That's got to be the goal right now.

If we beat WF, UofL, and BC, but lose to ND we end up in the Camping World Bowl. We're currently the second/third highest ranked ACC team and no Coastal team should catch up to us if we play ND tight and beat a ranked BC team on the road. That is assuming Clemson takes care of business in the ACC Championship.

If we beat WF, UofL, but lose to BC and ND we end up in the Pinstripe Bowl. I know the Pinstripe isn't the most desirable pick, but it has a high payout, late December, against the B1G.

We only end up in a tier two bowl if we tank.
