Cut ups of BG's offense vs an SEC defense. For all the complainers about the conservative coaching of Shafer. The 3:40 mark of the film is going to blow your mind. Really shows the difference when you have a offensively driven coach. I want this guy BAD

wait that cant be a spread offense.. the have 2 back and double wing sets too..

shows you what can happen thought when a QB completes throws into tight windows.. and he makes the correct reads as a SR qb

much more use of 4 wides and less TE, lets hope we find 4 WR for next year.

dungey well is well prepared for the run for your life part of it though.

this biggest difference is less use of of hybrid/TE sets and much more getting the play off around 25 secs instead of 15 like SU did last year.

Going to be a rough year 1 and an exciting year 2 and I can't wait. We should have games and flashes of it in year 1. It is what we need to compete with Florida State and Clemson. Tennesse recruits similar athletes to those two programs and this offense shredded that defense.

Just keep in mind we have better players in our defense. If BG's D coordinator comes too he will be like a kid in a candy store. Im sure he never had guys on his defense with the skill level as ours.

Surprised by the amount of QB running. Looks like a really good fit for Dungey and Scott.

I like that he avoids being one dimensional. Lots of run plays to keep the safeties and LBs honest. A little option sprinkled in too. Some screens, lots of passes in the flat to a variety of players, and a strong commitment to throwing deep, both down the sidelines and over the middle.

This offense will be very difficult to prepare for and like any well conceived one, is designed to take advantage of whatever the defense is giving them. Dino Ball would take Syracuse to a state of the art offense for the first time since the early days of Coach Deleone as our OC.

that 4th down play at the 3:40 mark nearly brought tears to my eyes. I loved how the announcers couldn't even contemplate that he was actually going to run a 4th down play. They seemed to think it was a lame attempt to get Tennessee to burn a time out or jump offsides. And then it was an inside run!

Babers = no more meathead football.

LOL brought tears to your eyes. Love it!!!!!

Watched BG vs Ball State last night. Announcers said that the Ball State HC "is terrified of this offense"...

Here's the thing - you don't have the top passing offense in the country because what the defense is giving you are good options to pass.

The offense imposes that on the defense.

I love, love, LOVE the idea of teams playing against us knowing that if they're expecting to win they need to be ready to score 5 or 6 TDs to do it. Against NE meathead teams that's a unique kind of pressure.

Johnson isn't a running QB like Dungey has been. He's a run if he has to type, but can have that success on the ground if the opportunity is presented.

I know everyone says its gonna take 2 years to implement. I think we have the athletes on O to shorten that lag time. Dungey is 2x the athlete Johnson is, BGSU doesn't have anyone as athletic as Phillips. Fredericks I am sure would start for BGSU. Plus all the young OLine that are redshirting this year. I think we will finally have an offense that makes the most out of our athletes.

It isn't a talent issue. Its a learning the scheme and making all the proper reads issue. We have the talent to run that offense on the roster...

Dungey - Check
Fredericks - Check
Ish - Check
Estime - Check
Erv - Check

Tight End will depend on Dunk if not we need someone here.

But our offensive skilled position players can play in this system. We need one more big fast WR on the outside.

they left a lot of plays on the field to with bad/off passes and drops. will our fans be able to recognize that players need to make plays or will they blame the coach?

Agreed. Watching that Tenn game you can see clearly that this offense is made for a guy like Dungey. Might need to work on getting a touch more mustard on intermediate throws, but man.

I think Babers takes a look at our WR depth and brings in a couple.

That and the refs were letting the Tenn secondary mug their WR's. Stupid SEC

I'm biased but I think once he gets protections down, he's better than either Erv or Brisly.

Until it comes up short and all of the armchair QB's scream "Why would you do that so deep in your end? Makes no sense. Fire Babers!"

It'll should be a LOT easier getting decent WRs too with this offense. Exciting times if this pans out and we end up with Dino.

year 1 is going to be a blast

babers talks about year 2 as being when people really get it. but babers is on another planet. performances that will bug him will make us giddy

they will practice so fast that we'll get 2 years of practices in a year compared to what we've been doing

giants fans on blood thinners reeking of old spice and cracklin oat bran will yell about that flapping their meaty hands and waving their ample eyebrows

the rest of us will shrug knowing they'll score plenty
