At this point, one explanation is that Fran is bolting and wants us to not miss him as much.  The other is that he is like the guy that wins big gambling in Vegas… thinks he has the golden touch… starts losing… still thinking that he has the golden touch, keeps going to the ATM to get more… and keeps losing that.
This was all very easy. Start Carney and give him his chance. If he fails, put Collins back in to be the hero or also fail (again). Collins seems to do best when the pressure drops down a notch. Carney could take the heat off Collins in Q1. Instead, Fran went for the grand slam, even though any hit out of the infield would have scored the winning run.
