Bubble Watch - Conf Tourney Saturday (Still Alive)

Palm:

The Orange have a nice collection of wins against top-50 teams -- all at home -- including ones over Florida State, Duke and Virginia. However, the rest of the season was not good, and that is reflected in their RPI, which is now in the mid-80s. That would be the worst RPI ever for an at-large team. They also are just 2-11 away from home, which would be the worst ever for an at-large team. And, finally, the Orange have five bad losses, which would be one short of the record for an at-large. A team with six top-50 wins gets left out almost every year. No team with Syracuse’s negatives ever gets in.

Hasn't happened since 2009 and it was a Colorado team that had a 331 OOC SOS.

He is literally making things up at this point.

He also had Monmouth one spot below us.
Palm thinks each game is an exhibition scrimmage for the home team and only counts for the visiting team.

Kentucky pulls away - no bubble buster in the SEC.

Leaves the A-10, AAC, CUSA, and possibly MwC to clear.
If VCU loses today we all become URI fans.

I don't think Nevada would get atn at-large but I think MTSU is intriguing...

Hmmm, When was the last time a team with that many top 50 teams got left out?

Those Kentucky fans really show up. That entire arena is blue. Impressive.
But only one is worth looking at.

Then we turn on ESPN2 for SMU/UCF and see an incredible 250 people in Hartford

I don't think UConn will have as many in Hartford as Kentucky has in Nashville.

I don't think Vanderbilt will either (in Nashville).

I would be shocked to escape both the a10 and AAC.
shocked? Really? I don't expect that UConn, piece of crap that they are, can win two more games, I don't care where the games are being played. They could play the game at Ollie's house. The A-10 is trickier. But I sure won't be shocked if we survive both games.

I've never been impressed with SMU this year...if we got in I wouldn't mind seeing them as the 6 after Dayton...

Big reason to root for SMU too.

Highly highly unlikely UConn can beat Cincy and SMU 2 days in a row. They could definitely do it against UCF though - they've beaten them twice this year already

We should be fine with the AAC. Our fate may come down to VCU. I still think we should be ahead of Wake, and USC so that URI wouldn't matter.

Dash, you seem to get offended by every post :rolling:

I used to have respect for him, but it's all agenda this year.

Nevada is 9-5 against the top 100, and only 1 bad loss.
(0-1 vs top 50) Can't really use that against them... to try to compare apples and oranges, the rankings are 55/47/55 for Nevada. Avg of 52 which shows they are on the border of being legit tourney team

Don't have them in, but have their chances above 10% anyway.
