Buffalo Bills 2017 Why do I put myself through this season thread

Where does that land the Bills?

In with the two losses by Tenny ( I think) and at Jville for the wildcard

That leaves them out, as the only teams tied at 9-7 would be the Chargers and the Bills and the Bills lose the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The link I posted above spells it out pretty well. There are all kinds of different scenarios, but the only way they get in at 9-7 with the Chargers also at 9-7 is if there is a 3-way tie that breaks their way. They can win head-to-head tiebreakers with Baltimore and Tennessee, but not LA.

Really any of the 3 way tie scenarios give Buffalo a good chance; the question is how they all get there. If Tennessee loses to the Rams and beats the Jaguars, then they beat Buffalo in the tie-breakers. Buffalo would then need a win over Miami and a Baltimore loss to get in.

If Tennessee beats the Rams but loses to the Jaguars, any Bills win clinches a playoff spot regardless of all the other teams' results.

If tanking gets Tennessee in, they will play to win. As bad as Tennessee is playing they don't want a division opponent back to back.

Bills beat NE and the Jags will have a ton to play for.

What? I said the guy has done a pretty good job as a rookie HC, "getting jobbed on a few calls" is the difference between 4 and 8 wins? Nobody is calling for his head? I hope not. He's managed to makes strides cleaning up the roster, gain draft picks,start building a team with his guys and yeah give what has been the arguably the worst franchise in the league for 15 years a shot at the playoffs in his rookie season. I remember when Bills fans use to say the same thing about Doug Marrone, yeah he stinks too. You make it sound as if, people could make a case for not bringing him back for a 2nd and 3rd season. He isn't responsible for anything that has happened to the Bills before the day he was hired, I get the luggage Bills fans carry but geeze, give the guy some time to grow into the position, not like he went 3-13 out of the gate.

If the bills make the playoffs, that will matter and a rookie HC will the be the one who got them there with a cleaned out roster ( cleaned up for a number of reasons) and subpar QB play at best. I think he has the team behind him as well which is huge

there a bunch of ways buffalo can get in even if tenn wins twice and balt loses once and buffalo wins just the miami game.

root for the colts and jets then tenn wont matter at all

Big one today, as they all are against the Pats. Obviously NE is a better team but hopefully the Bills can get a few bounces and steal one. Things I am looking for:

1) Anyone who has been on this thread all year knows my views on Dennison- would like to see more creativity and results against a Pats D that isn’t the 85 Bears.

2) Lots of off field elements here- Revenge on Gronkowski, potential hangover from the Steelers win, the whole TB12 snake oil salesman getting banned- lots of angles for distraction! But Belichick is the master of focus, and I am confident McDermott is strong here too. It will be interesting to see if the Pats come out flat...or if they come out spitting fire.

3) For the Bills to have a chance, Shady has to have a big game and the D line has to put pressure on Brady. Not exactly rocket science, but that was the formula the Fish used two weeks ago- while maintaining a clean pocket for Cutler. Be physical on both sides of the ball.

At times this team has felt like a paper tiger- today is a chance to change that. Go Bills!
