Someone else must’ve been offering a package to move up for Allen because nobody is going QB until maybe Miami.
 
Also being reported that we were adamant about keeping 22.

LB, OL, WR?

With Allen’s arm, could use a guy like Ridley..
 
I am not a fan of Allen but will be happy to be proven wrong. Big thing for me is can he be accurate...I am skeptical.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade back to acquire more picks with #22...a lot of holes in the roster that those two second rounders would help address...
 
So I wonder what we offered to the Broncos at 5 before Chubb became available.

Well we do have 2 threes but i hear ya. Was always going to cost us a decent amount to move up. Still we could draft back as you noted grab a couple more picks
 
It seems, depending on team, 2 QBs were #1 on draft boards.

Cleveland seems like the only team that had Baker at #1.

Depending on team, Darnold/Allen had the most #1 buzz.

Doesn’t mean anything other than that though. I’m intrigued by Allen... Can’t say much more than that. Definitely a boom or bust guy for sure.
 
I asked in the other thread but this is the actual bills thread so I will re-ask, what if the bills kept tyrod and built the offense around a mobile QB and then tried to get lamar Jackson as the successor at 22?

Wouldn’t hate Lamar. Would hate Tyrod still on this team.
 
Dang... quite the drop in pick haul from 7 to 10.

I think AZ was linked to wanting Allen so maybe we had to beat them out to get to 7.
 
Do I remember correctly that Allen killed it at his pro day?

He’s not the smartest or best passer. That’s Rosen.

He’s not the most talented/gifted. That’s Allen.

He’s not the best combo of size/mobility/smarts/passing. That’s Darnold.

I thought tyrod's cap number wasn't that bad for an average QB? it would seem that he is at least better than McCarron for this year, or would they hand over the keys to allen right away? I just thought Jackson is possibly a unique talent and if you build the offense around it ahead of time maybe he could be suited to be good. admittedly I don't know much about allen.
 
Watching Rosen highlights a minute ago showed him wearing a knee brace. Two concussions last season. Least mobile of the top QBs. Durability concerns perhaps? Allen looks like he comes from hardy stock.

I’ll take whatever McCarron could be over what Tyrod is. That Playoff Game was so bad that he had to go.

I understand that but what I am positing is that you deal with one more year of tyrod (where we will probably suck anyway) and you start building an offense around a mobile QB. let tyrod get beat up over it, then you have better personnel a year from now and give the keys to Jackson.

McCarron gives me more hope if Allen isn’t starter Game 1 than Tyrod does. For some reason the media acts like Tyrod is an “ok” QB. He’s not.

We got McCarron for cheap and flipped Tyrod for a 3rd Round Pick that is huge given the two 2’s we gave up.

that's fair, I forgot about the 3rd round pick. taylor is/was pretty bad so screw it. hopefully allen is the guy
 
Here's what I will say, at least the Bills are being aggressive for once at the QB position. Win lose or draw that alone is a sign of progress. Frankly I would pick a QB every year until you find the one...
