Buffalo Bills 2019

If there's a bright side to this game, Buffalo turned in a pretty great team performance there that was undone by the punt block and some bad turnovers. Other bright side is that hopefully this is the final straw to cutting Zay Jones.
Been defending Zay for a while but Josh Allen needs a big catch range guy. Brown and Beasley are good but we dont have a non-TE that can win a 50/50 ball.

I think it’s time to bring Duke up.

Bright spot... Dawson Knox is a stud. At least we finally have one of “those” tight ends.

Knox is REALLY coming on strong. It would definitely be nice to have a better 50-50 ball guy. Brown is capable; Beasley isn't at all. Would rather just have guys that get open than someone that's good at making contested catches, but Zay isn't good at either.

Agreed.. that’s the thing.. Zay isn’t bringing much to the table (although Josh misses him allll the time). If we’re running 3 WR sets and one guy isn’t working.. I’m ready to give the big WR a chance.

I present to you Mr. Duke Williams.

Holy Fluck...224 vs. 375 yards Pats vs Bills...that's an a$$-kicking...and take away 40+ yards Brady should have lost from intentional groundings...

Yes, the Bills lost this game...BUT, they proved they belong and should have won, and there should be a lot of focus on the NFL front-office now rthat the Pats have the Kraft three game playoff guarantee set up.

Now that I’ve had time to digest that game, it doesn’t sit well with me.

Josh Allen has been a mix of good, with some bad and a lot of clutch. Unfortunately today he was a lot of bad mixed with a little good. What we didn’t get to see was the “clutch”.

Yet again, a Patriot b*tchboy intentionally tries to hurt one of our players, and again, is successful.

Maybe Allen falls on his face in the 4th, who knows, but what I do know is we have a Championship Caliber Defense that completely shut down the Brady led Offense and gave us every chance in the world to win this game. What I do know is we have an excellent red zone offense with Allen’s dual threat ability. What I do know is that Josh Allen has one of the highest 4th Quarter QBR’s in the NFL.

...but we didn’t get to see that.

Refs botching calls that favor the Pats and bs pick plays, whatever, that’s par for the course. The intentional injuring though... if I’m in that locker room, I want blood next time we play them.

Bad taste left in all our mouths and we’ll have to wait for the rematch to see if Allen is capable of stepping up against the Pats.

Onto Tennessee and a huge game. Can’t let NE beat us twice. The way our defense looks, I’d hope Mariota and Henry aren’t able to do much. If Allen plays, he’s GOT to take care of the ball better. If Barkley plays, I really hope we have Singletary because he didn’t strike a ton of confidence in me. Tough circumstances but he looked just as out of sorts as Allen.

Bad things generally happen when Allen retreats then runs towards the sideline and passes. Either guys aren't getting open when he breaks contain or he's not delivering. His deep balls haven't been good, especially on the move (and stop throwing off your back foot). Better he steps up in the pocket and finds someone quickly - if not then run.

All in favor of giving Duke a shot.

Also, 3 free points to NE, courtesy of the stripes:

The first I heard of this rule was a NE@Buf game in 2001 in overtime. NE was given the ball back on a technicality after a turnover which gave them a 1st round bye leading up to the Tuck Rule game. Nice to know there are different rules for them in our own stadium. What would we do without replay.

It’s honestly unbelievable how bad the officiating is in the NFL right now.

You have replay, and still, every week, they get reviews wrong and former refs have to correct them after the fact.

I don’t even know what the grounding rule is because Brady was just throwing away wherever he wanted as soon as we had pressure.

Yep, posted about that in the NFL thread just now. David Patten was the player who was temporarily unconscious and touched the ball while his foot was OOB, and before the Bills recovered the ball. As I said, I don't expect most Pats fans to have any recollection of this.

I'm reading Pats fans - extremely defensive bunch - on Twitter tonight, regarding intentional grounding rules. They clearly don't know the rule...not the brightest bunch, or most astute football fans.

-40 yards for their hero who can't move.

It's easy for him though...if he has to get to 3rd & 10 (and it matters) he just flutters a ball up and DPI is called...so just dont' get hit, throw it into the dirt.

If Buffalo's QB could get away with angling the ball into the turf 15 yards from some RB then he'd have 3 less INTs

BTW, the end is near...

The Economics are unwinding as far as TV is concerned (DirectTV looking to give up Sunday Ticket) and how other critical media elements (The Athletic, etc) not beholden to the $$$$$ are available.

The asterisks become real soon.

NO denying how bad Josh was yesterday unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see him try and pull it out in the 4th quarter. I think with Allen you just have to give it the season to see the whole body of work. Zay certainly didn't help on a couple of those INT's. Sunday is the first of several 50/50 games that will make or break the season. I am assuming that Josh will be off this week heading into the buy and then probably back for the Miami game. Singletary is the biggest mystery right now, could be back this week or off another 2-3 weeks just don't know. Tough loss but the 50/50 balls that Josh throws up are more like 25/75 balls because of the receivers lack of physicality and the location they are being thrown. Josh has to do better here and a bigger more physical receiver would help as well

I think a veteran back up like Barkley with a week full of practice and reps, knowing he's starting etc versus Barkley thrown into a shite storm towards the end of the game versus a very tough defense are two totally different things. I expect matt to be serviceable if Allen does not play which I don't think He will.

I tweeted several sites about that blown replay call during the game.. This is why they need to have the replay discussions recorded so they can have honest discussions as to why a simple rule was botched..

I really dont think they look at the complete plays sometimes.. Did t hey even discuss the fact the DB was OB? or did they just forget to look?

Its like explaining how the KC TD was allowed yesterday when the RB had his knee down way before he went into the endzone.. what were they looking at?

too bad they have TV people who dont know the rules doing the games so they dont know enough to question it? did they bring the CBS rules guy in live to discuss it while it was reviewd?

That's a good point. That's the situation he did well in last year. Granted vs the Jets

Barkley can manage a game.. He isnt going to save plays for you like Allen does. If we are running just a little and can do some play action he can be solid.

Really missed Singeltary I thought yesterday. Gore ran really well. As the game went on though the oline had better protection and that was a good sign.

Singletary was the best part of the offense until he got hurt, maybe not from a production stand point from an excitement stand point, he really changes things for the offense. I thought Yelden was good in 2nd half yesterday. At least we should see Singletary back in a few weeks at the most.

I think yesterday was the day that most gave up on Zay Jones. People have been patient with him for the most part but enoigh is enough. Make a damn play. There is no way he ever makes that catch that D Knox came up with yesterday and with Josh at wh we need guys that can make plays and come up with tough catches. Zay May be better somewhere else but certainly won’t be in Buffalo. I say just cut him
