Buffalo Bills 2025 Thread

Any bills fans OK with this move will rue this day. Bad karma move once again, like after benching Flutie back in the day after he saved that season to get them to the playoffs to replace him with whatever that guy was (Rob Johnson?).

Expect another music city miracle scenario, except this one will be seasons long. The guy had created a very good culture there, of winning of appealing to the Blue collar buffalo mindset so well, both among the fan base and the program/club itself. Something not so easy to do. That culture will now completely and utterly fall apart, mark it down.

You were one bad referees call away from likely the Super Bowl again. Just utter and complete stupidity, something my jets would do.

So thank you Buffalo Bills enjoy your trip back to mediocrity.

The flutie crap was bananas

Interesting name to watch

Webb was the first one that came to mind for me. Some of the other candidates mentioned I don't know much about or are just flat out a no go.

I do wonder if McDermott and Bean were feuding over some of the personnel moves (i.e.) Ingram and Kromer.

I actually feel bad for McDermott . I was ready to move on from him but I still feel bad. I certainly wasn’t expecting him to be gone and beane to remain. Beane the genius that cut Ingram to sign slay and slay Doesn’t show then you have two TD scored on back up dbs in Denver that would have been behind Ingram on the depth chart.
The crazy part is we could have cut other practice squad guys that very likely would have cleared waivers.

Just curious so I checked the Philadelphia Eagles over the same period and they had nine draft picks that made the pro bowl.

To be fair the Eagles have one of the better GM's in the game and also had mulitple high 1st round picks. Doesn't absolve Beane but its almost impossible to replicate what the Eagles have done.

It’s malpractice to fire McDermott and keep Beane.

Either swap it or both out. But this is worst case scenario.

Would have preferred a clean sweep but at minimum one had to go, status quo was untenable.

Gotta disagree here. McDermott was here for 9 years and while he did a heck of a job you can't just keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result when one wasn't coming. Could it backfire, absolutely we have seen that plenty of timef. We have also seen Denver fire Dan Reeves and John Fox in similar situations and TB with Dungy and end up winning a championship with the replacement.

Also while I get your point about the call even if the officials had gotten that right and Buffalo won, history under McDermott shows a matchup at NE for the AFC crown is far from a lock. I

McDermott is a great coach but at some point the organization had to acknowledge that for whatever reason he wasn't ever getting this franchise over the hump. It was time to go in another direction.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane is being retained, a source told ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. He will help lead the team's search for a new coach to lead the Bills' debut season in their new stadium.
Your best chance to get rid of Beane is some coach they really like says Bean's gotta go. Similar to the Liam Cohen situation in Jacksonville last year.

Bills fans here know their roster far better than I do but I went over the last five drafts and was not all that impressed. Admittedly picking in the mid to high 20s is challenging but most of the drafts were mediocre. The 2022 draft was above average but since then average to below average. Too early to judge the 2025 draft but so far it seems meh. Should have let go of the GM. There are probably more viable GM candidates out there as replacements than head coaches.

Beane's had a real mixed bag in drafts. He hasn't brought in nearly enough of WR's and the DL misses have been really prominent. The bills also right or wrong have poured more picks for defense then they have offense ( I assume this is because of McDermotts background).

On the other hand he did draft Brown and Torrence on the O-line, got two really good TE's (when healthy) and got some good mid to late value picks ie Benford, Shakir, Hawes, Gabe, Hamlin, and looks like another in Walker from last year and Dorian Strong apparently was playing really well before his neck injury.

His issues have been the DL for sure and some early misses that really didn't pan out ie Elam, Coleman, Boogie Basham, Ford and I am already concerned about Sanders last years 2.

I would have gone with a clean sweep but I do like Beane for the most part, he has shown a willingness to make big moves and has been active at the trade deadline save for this past season. Now I think he needs to be on a pretty short leash but I can live with him staying on for now.

I'm cheering for him where ever he goes, one of the best coaches in Bills history. Sucks they couldn't get it done.

But I'm excited for the next era of the Bills

I can’t imagine a scenario where Allen green lit this unless he was basically in “leave me out of this, I’m not getting involved with hirings or firings” mode OR he 100% knows and loves who the next guy is

He’ll be great turning around a crappily run franchise to respectability. But to whom much is given , much is expected, and he was given a cheat code Qb

Read something this morning that Allen and McDermott had a rocky relationship in the beginning and that while a lot better now still not exactly great. Sounds like he signed off on this.

Making the pro bowl is a much lower bar than all pro as dudes opt out of the game all the time and their replacements are technically then “pro bowlers

If Davis mills started the game yesterday for the Texans, do they win?

I hear ya. I would also point out that there were several other solid draft picks that have not made the Pro Bowl. Dvonta Smith, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, Nolan Smith, Nkobe Dean, to name a few.

Fair point but use whatever metrics u want to use. Beane has a mediocre draft record.

hey bud, you and I will remember this over one of your gourmet cold IPA's at a tailgate and revisit it all in a year or two to see what goes down!
