Class of 2022 C Donovan Clingan (CT) Offered

He is not committing any time soon. From what I was told, he is gking to committ to a school the summer after his junior year. He and his dad qant ro do their 5 official visits this year. Which is gonna be tough with the virus. And Donovan is not upset about the offer, he just needs to look at the big picture. Which is smart. He actually likes Riley, they were at the same Syracuse camp together.
I assume it's a first come/first serve situation. Don't see them bringing in both. I prefer Donovan, but I don't blame the staff for not wanting to wait and take a chance of being left in the cold if Clingan commits elsewhere if they have another good option. That has happened before.

Watching this kid in more highlights he definitely has some game but from a trajectory standpoint is he a Kevin Love or a Jake Voskuhl? Not that there is anything wrong with being Jake other than his choice of school.

Size wise the kid is going to be a monster. Just wondering how that pans out. The more I watch both he and Mulvey I don't see a bunch of separation from them other than Clingan is all about the pivot and Mulvey is mid range and happy to make a quick move to the rim vs being in the pivot. Both look like they will have great size and not be string beans when they start college.

Nice white guy only comparison

Well it wasnt intended to be racial but thanks for being an ass to call it out. Neither Mulvey or Clingan are big-time above the rim players. Yes both dunk but my point was in trying to find a comparison. A guy like Elton brand for instance was undersized. There aren't a lot of guys like at SU who compare well, especially of recent. I don't see a Fab Melo type of game in Mulvey and Clingan is not really a Rick Jackson/Rak/Arinze type of player either. So in both comparisons I was point to trajectory in light of whether Clingan has more game at multiple levels vs being just an around the basket guy. Given he isn't a high flyer but also has good size I felt the comparisons were very fair when you look at basketball skills and type of game and not color.

It's sub-concious, not intentional. Everyone does it. It's biology and psychology

Why not go back to Tony, who played with DC.?

I don't see Rony in him. Different games. I do see a bit of DC2 in him... In terms of what we hoped we would get before injuries really derailed his career.

The beauty of UCONN is that there's an unlimited supply of "monikers." Nothing official need happen. Any and all are approved.

:gavel'd:

Then I plan to begin using "bonetards" in excess in perpituity.

Should not even be discussed or recognized. Gives them undeserving relevance.
