Class of 2020 C Eddie Lampkin (TX) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/2/24)

Anselem would be a pointless move. This fixation on getting a center is killing us. Just get the best players you can and figure out the rest. If you have to play small so be it. We are fckd anyway at this point.
Yup. If we supposedly have this 1 million or whatever now, find the best player possible to spend that on. This roster right now, or with anselem is pukexworthy.

I think players should be allowed to transfer at halftime of a game to the team they are playing against if they so choose. Also, all this money we donate to charities for people- especially children- in need should go to college athletes. They have been so mistreated and abused for so long. Congratulations to all here and everywhere that have supported this wonderful change in the world of collegiate athletics

As I’ve said before, these are just rationalizations for what’s wrong with capitalism.

No those are actual definitions and the difference between perceived and market value.

If Syracuse and Day2 think Lampkin is worth 500K and SMU actually pays him 750k. Then his market value is 750k and Syracuse and Day2 perceived value of Lampkin is 500k.

Its two seasons we keep losing guys to "bags" but never bring anyone in with "bags".

Sounds like they don't have a clue on the market.

I think they had it right, hes been committed here for a decent amount of time and they beat out a # of other teams. Not sure you can predict a school going rogue with a ridiculous offer

For those who keep saying if Fran can do it, why can’t Red, it’s comparing apples and oranges. Fran does have more NIL, all football programs do and it’s not close. But the guys he’s bringing in aren’t just because of NIL, it’s also because of Fran himself. He was the #1 recruiter in the country last year and our DC was #1 the year prior.
Fran also needs to roster 100 guys and pay 22 starters, not 13 and 5.

Well, there’s an actual definition for overpaying, too. It’s literally, “pay (someone) too highly.”

Your argument would mean that no one overpays for anything ever.

You don’t understand…… nobody overpays. Everything is market value. If a billionaire in Dubai pays $500 for a Twix because he’s hungry. Everyone is going to pay $500 for a Twix. That’s the new market value.

He ACCEPTED our offer. Attempting to renegotiate afterwards is in bad faith and shouldn't be rewarded.
More money came in. Idk why people are so perplexed by this. If a better offer comes in EVERYONE would say “cya” to the old offer. Not a single soul here would turn down an extra 250K gross

Paying someone too high based on your own perceived value of that player.
