The best thread everThat might be one of the craziest things on here ever and I once saw a post about a dude looking for a refund from a witch on a failed love spell
I’ve been saying all day that’s what we should do.Okay, hearing that we had a donor step up and we made a sizeable offer. And the school is A and M not SMU
Speaking on this, he just was on Instagram live and multiple Syracuse players joined it. Fans were also continuously commenting things involving Syracuse, and I’m 99.9% sure I heard either him or someone with him say “We love Orange”. So what you heard could be (or probably is) why this all happened. Anyone else in here on his live that could confirm that they heard that statement?Okay, hearing that we had a donor step up and we made a sizeable offer. And the school is A and M not SMU
Do not need it to be written. Maybe SU should for breach of contract. We need players declared employees and get contracts in place.
This is crazy.
It’s not the money, it’s the handshake agreements.
A verbal agreement is not binding for a high school student committing to a university so I would imagine it would be the same with a portal guy.Do not need it to be written. Maybe SU should for breach of contract.
He is over 18 and an adult for contracting purposes?A verbal agreement is not binding for a high school student committing to a university so I would imagine it would be the same with a portal guy.
18 year old athletes commit to schools all the time and back out. I’ve never heard of them being sued.He is over 18 and an adult for contracting purposes?

The first time a school or coach sue a player will be the last time that coach or school get a player to sign there.18 year old athletes commit to schools all the time and back out. I’ve never heard of them being sued.
I hate this is how college sports are now. Regardless of the outcome, I’m less of a fan of Eddie Lampkin then I was this morning.Okay, hearing that we had a donor step up and we made a sizeable offer. And the school is A and M not SMU
Geezum, can't we buy someone better than Gramps if that is the case?Okay, hearing that we had a donor step up and we made a sizeable offer. And the school is A and M not SMU
Maybe they're not Happy just having Pharrel- See what I did there?Texas A&M already landed Pharrel Payne in the portal who is probably a better center than Eddie and should start. If they have 750K to throw at Eddie just to be a backup/platoon dude thats insane.
Well said. My thought as well.Bulldogs post was on the money about the importance of keeping this kid in the fold. It’s a complete team if we do just needing a couple pieces. You run your offense through your big man and you can do a lot of different things. This is one time where the money matters. His rating may not excite anyone on the portal rankings but there won’t be but a handful of centers across the country as experience and effective at the 5 as he will be offensively. Win the battles you can’t lose, lean on the risks taken with some guys to pay off and keep grinding.
It's not about Eddie. Any fan of college sports who thinks that theI hate this is how college sports are now. Regardless of the outcome, I’m less of a fan of Eddie Lampkin then I was this morning.
They shouldn’t sue commits, but they should be able to sign contracts with players so they can enforce them. How can any team do any type of roster building??The first time a school or coach sue a player will be the last time that coach or school get a player to sign there.
Thank you. I'm not sure what Reds message is to kids as to why they should come to Syracuse. But if it isn't more than money than Syracuse will always struggle. For those who keep saying if Fran can do it, why can’t Red, it’s comparing apples and oranges. Fran does have more NIL, all football programs do and it’s not close. But the guys he’s bringing in aren’t just because of NIL, it’s also because of Fran himself. He was the #1 recruiter in the country last year and our DC was #1 the year prior.
I doyou sure you want to put all your Wildhack eggs in that basket, sir?
Spot on. I suggest anyone who supports or wants to support the football effort reach out to Fran. If you do I doubt you will question if he is going to be successful.Fran is building a program. You have to be myopic or are choosing to be myopic not to be able to see that. And he’s doing it the right way. It’s not about counting wins before they happen. It’s about a systematic overhaul in the way things were being done Football wise, from recruiting to conditioning to coaching to player management to program management. The change is obvious if you’re paying attention, and it’s what needs to be seen in order to see improvement on the field long term.
I’ve heard Fran tells kids they will get taken care of and worries about the money later where the basketball program unlike other football and basketball programs tells kids exactly what they’re getting. Basically other schools are inflating their offers and those programs may currently not have the money and may never have it. Jeff Goodman has discussed this for over a year.Thank you.
