I wouldn’t say that for Autry, I mean it always felt we were leaving wins on the plate, but it’s definitely more attainable now. 18-14 is possible to make it if the ACC is having a good year.

I'm worried and I will tell you why. One fault of Gerry from when he was an ass't was that he always thought we were in great shape with recruits. All those kids we lost, Gerry was surprised when we didn't get them. I worry he might be thinking that with Freeman and be way off base. I will \feel a lot better if on Monday, Freeman hasn't signed with anyone other than us.

The reasons we should want Gmac even being an unproven coach, the language is starting to change. He was supposedly a great recruiter, talent evaluator, gets the most out of his players and our NIL fund would be significantly greater than if we hired someone else.

Now we’re left with hoping he’s a good talent evaluator and can get the most out of his players. Because apparently we don’t have the $ everyone floated we would have and he’s definitely not Fran when it comes to recruiting.

Not anyone has said we don’t have the money that was floated. Where and who is that coming from? There is absolutely zero merit to him being a failure or a success yet. What’s getting old is the premature takes on we are so back or the money isn’t there and GMac isn’t the right choice. It’s not even been a whole month ffs.

I think people need to see what their preferred coach in BH has actually put together vs reading rankings. He has a non PG defender like Dual who has worse offensive numbers, a G league guy who still needs his waiver that will be hard to predict at the college level, a returning SF who is ok but averaged 9 and 4 last year, a talented SG from an 18-15 FAU team with ample potential and ok shooting numbers ( similar to Tobiason but not as tall or long), a now sophomore PG from USF who is ok , a good shooter from UB who plays no defense at all, and then the starting PG and C from an awful NW team of which the C will start and who was awful against nearly every good opponent and then a defensive center from Yale who’s a good athlete and a solid backup 4/5 but nothing special. Its hard to build a team and PC fans are going to have a reality check when they struggle to score with the only real shooter being the guy who can’t defend. For a team with 14 million in NIL to have two guys from the P5 total and both very suspect additions we would be asking a boatload of questions how that group is going to play the up and down style in the BE.

FWIW - Dual is miles ahead of where Laz was coming into that Sr year.

He’s taller & longer, and a better defender already.

And he’s proven to value the ball and be a solid passer.

PG is the least of our worries at this point.

Just concerned this roster isn’t significantly better. The coaching will be better but will it be good enough to be a really good team. With the portal, teams can go from poor to really good in a season. I’m not sure we’ve done that. I like some of the pieces we’ve gotten, I’m just not feeling like we’ve gotten enough to be competitive night in and night out.

I’d love to be wrong. Been a fan for 30+ years which I know is nothing to you old folks.
