Took the same risk last year, and it paid off MASSIVELY with Kyle.

Paid off well with Kyle in that we got to watch a player that was entertaining in a fun way to watch, if it was massive, Autry would still have a job. A healthy Owen Freeman raises the floor and ceiling of next years group.

The team was plenty of talented enough. Kyle busted his butt and was a plus contributor.

Coaching let the team down, not the uber athletic pivot who played his arse off.

The Iowa transfer brings toughness, physicality and good effort. Doesn’t take plays off and does all the dirty work willingly and at a high level.

Has excellent touch in the paint and can score over either shoulder. Can move defenders in the lane with his size/strength.

Shows a nice baby hook. Can score over length using his strength to create space."

OK so he was one of Iowas best defenders by the advanced metrics on a really bad defensive team. I’m going to say coaching played its role too.

Well, we have a pile of money this time. Unlike last year. And usually, money talks. Will we get top of the market guys, probably not. But we can get good kids. I have heard of one kid already. And he is perfect. He has some strengths that people will love. He also has some weaknesses that people will hate. Perfect.

Grab a shot blocking defensive minded big to go with and add further depth and find a way to get Folefac in the fold and let’s do this.

Well it’s never easy to keep it under wraps. These kids are touring campus, lotssssss of people are involved with the visit. So extremely difficult to keep it from leaking. This staff has been trying to keep most visits under wraps but it’s really hard nowadays. Not blaming anyone I just know they were trying to keep this on the down low so other schools don’t get wind of it


On another note this would be a reallllly good pickup. Hopefully last year was just a fluke. But Iowa is obviously a decent power conference team and he put up great numbers there. Obviously if he puts up those numbers or even slightly below we should be more than fine at the center spot

I agree with you. Firmly believe the injuries messed up his season completely. If he gets back to 15 and 7 we will be in a really nice spot.

He’s very talented on both ends. Didn’t really fit in at Creighton and add in the injury = had a brutal year.

This kid with coach AO….Freeman already has good footwork and moves around the basket. Freeman actually plays a lot like AO. Neither was a bad athlete but I wouldn’t call them good athletes. Both big guys, that play below the rim but know how to use your their bodies and strength. Both smart players and fundamentally sound. Don’t need Freeman to be a 15ppg scorer. But if he can get us 10-12ppg and 7rpg I’ll be happy.
