Class of 2017 C/PF Moustapha Diagne (NJ) to Western Kentucky

Is that what Jordan hulls is doing now. Modeling IU's greatest achievements for money? Suckkkkkk
Kiss the ring bro!

Is Malachi and Jones an either/or? Or is Jones a 3 and Malachi a 2?

I'm not sure if this is accurate but from all the posts/articles, it seems like we might lead for Braynt, Jones (maybe 50/50 with UK?) and Diagne. If so, great front court.

What about Malachi? Or anyone else?

I have a feeling that both DJ and Malachi are still TBA on their positions. Would almost liken Malachi to BJ, who might just slide into the 3 one day but he would be sick up top. Both are close to 6'6 right now, so since they are 2015, if either or both grow a bit more, then either or both can end up SF.

I would love to see Malachi as a scorer at the 2, but it's really up in the air for both right now. That's why I like our chances for both. If DJ grows, he's got the body to play forward for us in almost a CJ sort of frame, but with off the charts athleticism.

My long term guess would be:
Malachi SG
DJ SF

Diagne is ours as far as I'm concerned.
I feel this way too.
But for Jones, Bryant and Malachi, a little tougher comps out there.

This is just going off of assumptions from me, but I expect the other three to heat up. That's why if we can land them early, that they WANT to be here, ala Hammer, BJ, Ennis, Chino, Kaleb, we are good to go. Also, I am proud of the staff for staying clear of most of the drama. Sure, we miss some big names, but this mutual admiration compliments the team concept IMO.

From what I've seen, Jones is dynamic 3 man. Malachi Richardson is a consummate SG...great catch and shoot guy who will be a 40%+ 3 point shooter. Given the crowd at that position it may be hard for him to rise in priority for the staff, and whether SU will be attractive to him.

My opinion is that compared to BJ, Cooney and other recents, no disrespect to them, but Malachi is deadly and will be in college. That TOC victory was against stiff competition in two terrific perimeter defenders and he was unconscious. He will shoot the ball in bunches wherever he lands.

What's the outlook on Diagne playing the 5 in the zone?
I'd say strong...to quite strong.
:)

If he's pushing 6'9 or is close to that, he falls into that Forward category that would list on our roster but plays the 5, ie, Rak, DC2, etc. Blocks shots and adds a little muscle down low. Banged with Roberson last year when both were playing center.
Good possibility he plays the 5 if he comes here, but might have time at the 4 as well.

Oh, and I almost forgot. We have Charmin Lawrence's "leave of absence" to thank for Diagne's progress at center.
Is that the same guy as jermaine "I need pamprinand SJU dude thinks I'm going to st johns but really I'm going to Cincinnati because all real programs stopped recruiting me cuz I lack a pair'' Lawrence?

Little fall ball, featuring Diagne (prounounced JENG, like Gorgui)
http://www.gardenstatehoops.com/mon...n-brothers-academy-st-peters-prep-and-depaul/

"Diagne was a problem for Kennedy as he scored 18 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked 3 shots"

Looks like Pope John lost though:
"Jones made the biggest shot of the game, scoring on a runner over the outstretched hand of the 6’8 Diagne to give them a 41-39 lead."

Now that Bryce Aiken is gone to Patrick School, look for Diagne to get a lot of attention from opposing teams.
