It’s what we’ve needed since Jesse leftI can’t express how important having a legit shot blocker helps the entire defensive structure.
Love this pick up.

He can also erase defensive lapses on the perimeter…you beat JJ of the dribble…ok….now what..The dude is an A+ athlete, that means blocked shots, offensive rebounds and putbacks. It's huge.
I would love to see us add another player of his type that he can split minutes with. I did see he dealt and recovered from an injury and perhaps UCLA was just not a fit for what they do. It’s clear we are valuing defense and shot blocking at the center position. Which I completely agree with considering we should have forwards that can be interior scoring threats plus JJ ability to slash.Hopefully he's the backup center. But I doubt it.
JesusHeard we got him for $700k. Prices for players has gone crazy since schools are able to pay.
Saw on3 reported minimum for a p4 starter is 500k, add that in with inflation from schools being able to pay now. 700k isn’t as high as other schools are paying guys.Jesus
It is rad my fellow high school students. This video is rad. Is that what the cool kids say?
What am I missing? He’s averaged a block a game for his career to this point and wasn’t a major shot blocker at SDSU.He can also erase defensive lapses on the perimeter…you beat JJ of the dribble…ok….now what..
Please tell me that you did not just compare him to Petar. Don’t think there are 2 more different players on earth.Pretty good size and really nice athleticism. I’m not sure he has any offensive game outside of dunks, but when he played, he was active and could make some things happen. I dont think he’s a true center but may have to be here.
It’s a bit concerning how little he played after moving up from South Dakota st though. I really hope the plan is to still being in another C that should expect 20-25 mins a game. Kyle will help but I think he’s a more souped up Petar than he is starting 5, though it’s possible he was underused at UCLA.
Have we ever had a player from Nebraska?
A better version. Aka a guy that is a tweener PF/C that does dirty work without much offensive game. This dude is far better and athletic, which itself is a need and will allow him to be more impactful. It wasn’t a comparison to the player but a role so relax. Maybe he’s a big time starting 5 but I’m a bit skeptical. Please tell me that you did not just compare him to Petar. Don’t think there are 2 more different players on earth.
No doubt, we are In agreement that we need another big. In Petar, I saw a guy that worked hard but was extremely overmatched by the opponents frontcourt. He was weak around the basket, opting to flip the ball up rather than attack the rim. He rarely got above the rim while this guys whole game seems to be above the rim. I guess that’s what I meant about the world of difference.A better version. Aka a guy that is a tweener PF/C that does dirty work without much offensive game. Andrew White transferred from Nebraska to SU but was from Va.Have we ever had a player from Nebraska before?
In the NCAA tournament (2 games) he played a total of 10 minutes, made 1 basket and grabbed 1 rebound. Im not sure banking our season on a guy who played less than 10 minutes a game this year is smart. I hope I'm wrongThe guy was one of the top transfers last year. He got hurt early at UCLA and never consistently kicked it into high gear. Amazing how you have labeled him a backup before he steps foot on campus.
I hope that wasn’t the price..
Roby may top the list of players for the longest tenure in JB's doghouse. Basically all four years if I remember correctly.Tyler Roberson play style.
