If Cuse Pitt and ND didn't jump this year acc would have been a mess, maybe as bad as the 7th-8th best conference.

That is how it is evolving: FSU, Clemson, Miami, Georgia Tech, even Duke, Louisville is solid, and Notre Dame is more of a football school. There is a lot of football talent in the South and the ACC is now in a position to get more of that local talent.
Duke and N Carolina should revive and maybe Miami will become a consistent factor, but that is about it for the old ACC. The lower teams do not have the high profile coaches that inhabited the Big East and attracted the players. Cincy, Marquette, UKon, Louisville, Notre Dame, Georgetown, W Virginia, Nova, Pitt (Pitt Thug Ball is probably on the way down.) There were 10 teams that were legit more often than not. i don't see that happening in the ACC.
