Agreed. Tatum's shooting numbers are fairly awful, he just doesn't have the bounce. It's a major injury and no matter how many people think they're the outlier it is always a full calendar year minimum of recovery.

I'm coming up on a year on April 9. I'm not my old self, but mainly because I'm an old self lol. Explosiveness will be a key element to his rehab, as will confidence. My surgeon was amazing but my brain always reminds me to be careful; even though im probably mechanically sound. Reckon that'll be a big hurdle for Calvin, as well as Steve. But they're young and confident and I truly think they'll be reliable pieces to our future.

Some saying oh it’s just one wide receiver etc etc. this is the best recruit in the last 20 years ? Watch some of the videos already and this is a massive loss. It’s a loss on the energy and excitement for the offense and All the people that invested to bring this kid to cuse.

I feel for the kid. He was super excited to play football. He was ready to be an immediate impact and I just feel for him.

That last part isn’t exactly true. He and his Mom had apprehensions about playing this year. They felt getting acclimated to school and working out with the team was an option for year 1, but Fran pushed him to play.

I am baffled by how people can downplay this injury. It is a big deal from a football standpoint and maybe more importantly, from a recruiting standpoint. I think most of us were hoping that this five star recruit would be immediately successful, which would lead other 5 stars to include us in their lists, and on and on. I hope it is me that is overreacting and that the others here are correct.

So what should we do? Panic? Worry? Fire the staff? Root for another team?

Seriously, how exactly do you want people to react to this?

I do worry long term with how he plays but I believe he can still be amazing next year and a freshman all American. Just needs to attack rehab and study the game of college football.

Gill was all about $$ on multiple levels and it was NOT that we could NOT pay him.
