Calvin Russell Official / Out Indefinitely

Injuries are part of the game. They’re going to happen. As we all learned with Angeli last year. Thankfully we have depth at WR (and at QB thank god), so while I really was excited to see him this year, it’s not the end of the world.

One guy produced at the MAC , the other guy didn’t produce at Georgia. So again your logic makes 0 sense
Rather get a guy wno was recruited by a national championship program than a guy who was mediocre in the MAC. Funny to me that every guy we get from a lower level program is underrated, while a similar player recruited by say Pitt or Duke is laughed at. Fans are funny people.

Some people are idiots, the only time a single injury has derailed us is QB injury. Not saying this doesn’t matter but again, true freshmen WRs, 5 star included, don’t usually make a major impact. I feel bad for Calvin, the team will be ok if Angeli is ok and/or Odom is the real deal
It is what it is. You have to move on. Next man up. The WR room has multiple players with limited experience, very good players. Coach them up, get them in a position to succeed and all will be good. Too much negativity all the time. Fran will have them ready. Oh. The sun will come up tomorrow.

How about instead of throwing shade on a player we wait until the season to see how they play. No one knows how any of the players will do until the season. Losing Russel sucks but he was not going to make or brake the season. Fans are on edge from last season but need to relax it’s only April 1st. A lot can change in the next 4 or 5 months.

Do you understand that it has worked and failed both ways? Let the coaches evaluate the players and just admit that you haven't got a clue how much a prospective player will contribute.

Already having surgery

Late to the party. I know there usually aren’t any specifics released for….reasons, but do we know what the injury is?

His leg is shaved below the knee, and I can’t think of an ankle injury with a recovery time that would exclude him from the season (even compound fractures). So, this is an Achilles tear, yes?

Ankle on the right looks wrapped so possible Achilles.

Gill had 570 yards as option #4 and JRS had a down year in 2024 from injury but had 729 yards his sophomore year, Johnny cook was a former 5 star. Not exactly a bunch of slouches there who had not played at the P5 level
Cook did not play here in 2024. That was Frans first year, and a very successful one at both QB and WR. The receivers in 24 were Pena, Meeks, et al.
