If I’m the Giants, I’m taking Hunter #1 then McCord in round 2, LQA in the 3rd, OG round 4. Immediate contenders next year.
That’s not an ordinary G5 team. $$$$ Same formula as Texas, The OSU and unlimited budget Oregon.NIL, portal, whole new world these days. A G5 team won the ACC regular season in their first year.
Bet the Giants (particularly coach and GM) have some regret now. Good player, but his outspoken media moments have put a lot of unwanted pressure and attention on them both. They are likely going to lose their jobs and Nabers’ attitude is a factor, however small. It’s a shame they didn’t learn from the last LSU superstar WR the Giants drafted.Malik Nabers played for a record and sat out after getting it for LSU last year, did he get hate for it?
True but LSU was losing at half time 14-21 and ended up winning 35-31 with him out. It probably has more to do with his position , wide receiver, than being a qb who is crucial in every offensive play. Fans, alumni etc probably had no regrets doing better in the second half without him too.Malik Nabers played for a record and sat out after getting it for LSU last year, did he get hate for it?
Excellent postThis was the epitome of the whole don't risk playing in a bowl thing. All about selfishness. He played just enough snaps until it wasn't worth it for HIM anymore.
What's arguably even worse are the fans who support such behavior, I'm not sure why they think this is a good thing.
The greatest WRs of all time are guys like Antonio Brown who don't give a about anything else other than running their route and catching the ball. Linemen can only block who's rushing them. CBs focus on one guy. QB is responsible for everything on offense.True but LSU was losing at half time 14-21 and ended up winning 35-31 with him out. I doubt they care. They’re paying for either ‘ships or exposure, not Pop Tarts. Can you imagine being a Miami fan (I know you have to really have an imagination) loyally contributing to some collective, being excited that your Heisman candidate QB is playing in the bowl game, spending some good $ to cheer them on in person, going to all the pregame festivities, seeing your qb break a huge record, the team leading by 3 at half time and then watching him bail for the 2nd half and losing by a point? I’d be done.
I’m sure some don’t care, but some of them I’m sure do care. For sure, you want to be competing for national championships, but the state of the culture of the program under the current regime is something that is also of value when deciding whether you want to contribute or not.I doubt they care. They’re paying for either ‘ships or exposure, not Pop Tarts.
Well, that would be the MOST Giants thing to do, since Daniel JonesIf I’m the Giants, I’m taking Hunter #1 then McCord in round 2, LQA in the 3rd, OG round 4. Immediate contenders next year.
Immediate contenders for the #1 draft pick in 2025.If I’m the Giants, I’m taking Hunter #1 then McCord in round 2, LQA in the 3rd, OG round 4. Immediate contenders next year.
I mean, it is weird though, right?I cannot believe that people are mad at Cam Ward for this. He could have just completely opted out of the bowl game and not played at all. Instead he put his team in a good situation to possibly win. Their defense gave up 42 points, that has nothing to do with him. And they were playing in the Pop Tarts bowl, not some prestigious bowl, who cares?
I wanted Kyle to come out of our game once he broke his records so we could see what we had at the #2 spot.
It's insane to get mad about this unless you had money on the game, and if you did you should've known better. This was the plan from the beginning.
I love it.I would hope that NFL GMs would see this and take note.
It's an exhibition game. The team result doesn't matter.I mean, it is weird though, right?
Playing long enough to get a record and then tapping your helmet to come out while the game isn't decided is a clear signal that the individual record mattered more than the team result.

Call me old fashioned but the optics of this sucks, would have been better for him to just opt out of the game completely.I cannot believe that people are mad at Cam Ward for this. I'm sure everyone will remember this in a year when he's starting in the NFL. It's much ado about nothing. Just something for people to get mad about on the internet for no reason.Call me old fashioned but the optics of this sucks, would have been better for him to just opt out of the game completely.
Thoughts on Saquon Barkley next weekend? Should he play?I mean, it is weird though, right?

That line of thinking suggests any player should opt out when their team picks up a 3rd loss in the regular season. It's an exhibition game. The team result doesn't matter.
Obviously every team first goal is to win the national championship. Ultimately, we still won a trophy, the win will be noted in the rafters of the dome that everyone will remember the accomplishments from this team for years to come. From Miami standpoint, they are lying if they say they don’t care about not winning the Pop Tart Bowl. It would’ve been a nice moment for there program to put the Syracuse and GT losses behind. That’s why I thought Cam Ward decided to compete. It's an exhibition game. The team result doesn't matter.
