In the same way that we laid out all the positive reasons for Scanlan to make the move to Syracuse, I think the same thing could be said for why Hay decided to switch to Albany. I mean, people were discussing the reasons he might make the move almost a year ago, this wasn't a huge surprise. If he had made the move before Zawada, Blake, White, et al made their decommits, I don't think we'd be giving it this much attention. But now, it's one more loss and it just feels compounding. Hopefully we can just come to terms with the fact that some kids want different things. We didn't land him, but apparently we were a draw for Irelan because we had a different culture than Albany.
I think the comment about SU not feeling like a "family" was disappointing to hear, but again, some people have different thoughts about what that means. I can't watch that Brendan Curry video after the Loyola loss and not think that the team thinks of itself as a family. I can't watch coverage from Lake Placid and not think that. So, again, different things to different people, but I would not classify SU as being "not a family".
