CBA Football

I talked to the principal at JD about a month ago. He said that there’s a Cuse commit at CBA who was a JD kid. The kid told him that he could come back to JD after football season is over. The principal told him that he might as well stay at CBA.
Who is the CBA commit?

I don’t know.

I'm not showing any commits from CBA for 2026 or 2027.

Must be one of those silent verbals.

Surprised to hear this. First team All Section - 3 in two sports. Where was my check? CBA grad here. CBA has the most stories history in all of high school sports. Haters gonna hate.
Good! I had several CBA friends that I played bball with. They buy athletes. Just a fact!

In my day…80s era, they were a non factor. Honestly didn’t know they played football. RFA, Lpool, Bville ruled the roost (well till 88 when we (WG) smacked rfa in the sec 3 title game). I think it was mid 90s when they figured out what they could do and it took some time but they built a powerhouse for sure.
Yeah u had the kid I wrestled as Rb Connor’s I think and won sectionals in wrestling to. Strong kid.

I am also a CBA grad they don’t buy players. They do recruit players but nothing more than hey… I think you should consider coming to CBA. I had a lot of friends on the team and many of them were paying full tuition with no aid.
They do recruit and you’re right it’s not always tuition but it is sometimes. I know quite a few people that got help there. I just think it should be fair or they only play other schools that can do that. Don’t get me wrong CBA is a great school especially their academic programs.

How do kids in low-income circumstances afford tuition?

Interesting that the rise of CBA coincided with the fall of RFA although they were completely unrelated.

21-20 and they blocked a CNS 35 yard FG attempt on the last play. I'd say they were challenged and narrowly escaped.
Two kick returns for CNS is not a reciepe for future success. That running back from CNS is legit. CBA's defense looks bether than ever. SU's recruit Cox needs to drop some pounds and gain some quickness, otherwise he will playing at UB.

I agree. McDowell-Reid is a really good player. It was 1 long kick return for him. His other long TD was a 70 yard run, and then he punched one in from a few yards out.

Both teams had a little bit of luck/things go their way so it kind of evened out. A really good game nonetheless, and hopefully a preview of a sectional matchup.

The rise of CBA football coincided with the crumbling of the city high schools. Then once they were good the helicopter parents from all the surrounding areas wanted to send their kids there who were surely destined to Division 1 scholarships. 😀There was a team before Greg Paulus that I believe lost in the state finals class C that really righted the ship. CBA football was horrible for a long time before that when they played in the old OHSL metro. Class B

And again baseball and football were always totally different when TD coached baseball there we won at every level. AA, A, B, C did not matter. Dotterer was an all timer, you guys can skauk all you want but CBA baseball was always elite because of their coach who was light years better than everyone else. ( other than Bees of course) He was simply that good. If you know you know

When 9th grade started the new transfers in were 7 tall/ripped black kids and a white kid who could kick a 50 yard field goal. Any alum playing dumb about how it goes down is in denial!

Who did TD take over from. Pat Murphy who was a helluva of college coach at ASU and ND and a CBA grad. If CBA played based on enrollment levels they would have won ever Sectional title at the Class C and B level. They have the best coaching, facilties and academics in the state. They can fundraise like nobody else. It's all sports men and woman - hell one of the best woman's bowlers is from Fulton and I don't belief she got a NIL package.
