Listen, the problem is we don't invest in the program. We can't raise enough money to get keep up with our peers. Coaches see this and they leave. Players see this and they don't come. We can sugar coat this as much as we want, but the dome isn't the draw of the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. The city of Syracuse doesn't have the major manufacturers and our local leaders can't get out of their way and move forward and make progress.
As others have said our reality is losing record with a possible winning season every few years. It can be changed, but people need to look in their wallets and contribute.

The fact that Dino didn't get an extension is most likely the primary reason people are leaving. JW playing the long game which is good

and most of those people are now dead, taken new jobs and relocated, retired and moved away or aren't fans because we have stunk for so long. When the football program is good the fans show up. Look at the decline in basketball attendance.

Good call outs by you and Whitey. I had figured he was going to snap into the existing construct given what Tony had run but it absolutely makes sense he is bringing in his team. Seems reasonable and it will be interesting to see where the "Chips" fall.

Makes sense being that Dino is a lame duck for now.
But that also lessons our chance to pull good assistants because why would they want a maybe one year deal if we take a big fall.

It's understandable. Dino is a lame duck, and these guys need assurances to take care of their families. I'm sure that guys long and Dr Bob were fine coming over as they are older and have built their resumes, taken care of their families. Young guys are going to leave as we have seen. I believe it's more about stability for them than money.

How is Babers a lame duck? Do you assume we are not making a bowl next year for some reason? Normally our coaches would not leave for a lateral move like Wake. Wake had been successful under Clawson and is a lateral move at this point. But if he has prior relationships with coaches there and think he's safer at Wake for a next opportunity job, he very well could leave. I understand him at least enquiring. Maybe he is seeing what the market is and try to get more money from Syracuse. But nothing has happened yet so everybody should calm down a bit... at least until he decides to leave.

If Syracuse just won one game in that long losing streak we'd be sitting at 8 wins and Dino would have an extension. That certainly would really have helped retaining/hiring. Now were at another one more year of wait and see. But I honestly think we are getting to a bowl game. I'd guess Chip thinks so as well. Although his corners this year are likely not going to be quite as good as some recent previous seasons.

Because he took money from Athletics, and didn't make the necessary expenditures to keep programs running well. His guote
H has nothing to do with the fact his administration hurt the athletic programs, and in turn the well being of the University.
He and Nancy were both bad for the school, as placeholders.

I think there is something about the buyout being manageable next off season or something I don't want to dig through all the reports.
