There is no requirement for the university to acknowledge length of contract. In 2018 all that was reported was salary,
 
If we are losing position coaches to peer schools that is a very bad look. Like others have mentioned this is a result of not knowing the future of our head coach past this season. Coaching world always looking for stability and right now Dino can't offer that.

Being targeted for a position and actually taking it aren't the same.

There is also a possibility West's agent might be using this to help get his client a raise from Syracuse.

Wake lost their CB coach to Stanford.

The connections between Chip and Clawson and Lambert are real. I am sure they would love to hire Chip.

But it sounds like West's agent is all about the benjamins here. I hope so.

Phil, CL and Whitey really brought up a good point here I think you're not including in your calculus and that is that our brand new DC might be very well bringing his own staff in that he wants. Meaning maybe there was not a place for Chip in his staff. So my take is everyone should hold tight and let's see where this goes. It makes a helluva lot of sense that Rocky wants to bring in his guys.

and that's fine but "his guys: better be able to recruit at Syracuse, hell of a risk to take. Because if they are couple guys from the West Coast the new WR/ TE coach or whoever they are better be Ed Orgeron reincarnated. I mean a hall of fame type recruiter with contacts everywhere!!!

So our new DC and our head coach decided that it would be a great move to get rid of both our secondary coaches?? The unit that has had the most success recently both in recruiting and developing players? The plan is to keep no continuity in our best unit? That makes zero sense.

I was only talking in regards to West. White and Monroe left of their own volition for different reasons...one for Big10 money and the other to go home...and Big10 money.

I can't imagine Dino is letting a 72 y/o come in and revamp the entire defensive staff nor could I imagine Rocky would ask for it, particularly as he probably doesn't have guys with good recruiting connections in our recruiting area. I think it's more a move for increased stability for these coaches, and in the case of Swag, a promotion.

Your presuming Nick was asked to leave? Probably not but that is an educated guess. I do believe it's possible that a condition that Rocky had was he could bring one other to join his staff. Nick and Chip could be completely separate things. As I mentioned earlier Chips agent could be trying to get some extra salary. The point is it could be a number of things and not just like some are saying we are losing everyone or it's because Dino is lame.

Agree and my guess is Dino is probably pretty aware of the situation. He is not a dumb guy. Things are shifting some for differing reasons. What matters is what things look like when the dust settles and whether the revised staff can get the team to another bowl again next year.

That is all that matters at the end of the day. So much chaos and Dino has to fill gaps and replenish roster and staff. Dino probably pretty busy right about now
 
Don’t worry we have John Wildhack in charge he will save the day.
I wouldn’t extend Dino anymore and if the perception is Dino year by year until he gets an extension then good coaches are going to want more money if they can’t have stability.

Just continue gathering talent so the next HC can have as much of a foundation as he can have.

I have no love lost for Thamel the douche but this is starting to get comical. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point lol.
