Here is a breakdown of his schemes at Ohio State and a video of his DB drills: http://jameslightfootball.com/tag/chris-ash/
Yeah, but usually the time a fanbase is most excited about you is when you're the new guyI'm sure OSU boards were great after they lost to VaTech last year.
Seriously - a hundred or so Syracuse posters versus an entire state criticizing your failures.Awkward
We call that a "fast burner" in the USAF...that is a good thingFive jobs in seven years?
Nice picture! so much for the lite side. What about Bob Shoop?
I can say this: Ash is very ambitious and took the DC job at Ohio State largely to better position himself to land a HC job. He absolutely should have been thinking about how he would handle the offensive side of the ball over the past couple of years if he landed a HC job.
This is a pretty good article on him (and the problems OSU has had retaining coordinators).
I don't know what to think about this... More bait?

Look at coach mac...
1959–1960 UMass(assistant)
1961–1965 Cincinnati(assistant)
1966 Maryland(DB)
1967–1970 Denver Broncos(LB/DB)
1971–1977 UMass
1978–1980 Cleveland Browns(LB)
1981–1990 Syracuse
Now look at Shoop...
1991–1993 Northeastern(DB)
1994–1996 Yale(DC)
1997 Villanova(DC)
1998 Army(DB)
1999–2002 Boston College(DB)
2003–2005 Columbia
2006 UMass(DB)
2007–2010 William & Mary(DC)
2011–2013 Vanderbilt(DC)
2014–present Penn State(DC)
And before you mention his record at Columbia, Larry McElreavy, once told reporters, "I'm realistic; there's not a lot of talent here." i.e. real football players don't attend Columbia!
the positives, north east guy, excels at current gig, current gig dug itself out of scandal and NCAA penalty, academic guy, knows how to recruit elite character players.[/QUOTE Mac was a Head Coach for 6 Years
I don't know if I should like this or not."No."

Depends on what your goal is. Ash is a risky hire. Can Syracuse afford another four seasons of 3-8 finishes, 4-9 finishes to find out if he can build a successful college program without OSU recruits?I think Ash might be the next hot assistant but a couple years down the road. Is it wrong to get in on something early?
If we strike out with Babers, Brohm, etc - I can live with Ash. But I'd want to know more about what kind of offense he wants to run.
