I'm sorry you don't like to look at next year, but in case you hadn't heard this is a throwaway season and basically doesn't count for much of anything.
I'm good with not having to break in new safeties next year.
I'd disagree. No season that is being played is a throw away season. If you step on the field, be it little league or the NFL, you're playing to win. I'd argue this season (particularly the 1st part) is more important than ever with other conferences not playing games. We have more of an opportunity to be seen by a broader audience.
Winning brings in better recruits and better recruits accelerate winning. If games are being played, it absolutely matters. Maybe not to some fans, but to coaches, players as well as prospective recruits.
