Say what you want the paul Johnson days were so fun to watch unless it was the 50 something to whatever shafer days drubbing.Monken? I think Wake needs a gimmick to compete. If Ga Tech could do it for a while, why not them?

On a rainy day.Say what you want the paul Johnson days were so fun to watch unless it was the 50 something to whatever shafer days drubbing.
Clawson’s amped up sideline demeanor during our games seemed to indicate, to me at least, he was still annoyed he wasn’t recruited out of high school by coach Mac and wasn’t seriously considered for head coach by AD Gross. He seemed to be way more animated when his teams were playing usFWIW, Clawson played high school football with Moose Johnston. I believe they are good friends to this day. I remember when Clawson was mentioned in our coaching searches when DM or SS were hired. Wish we got him instead of SS.
I hate to be conspiratorial, but we’d kicked NCSU’s azz the week before in Raleigh. It seemed obvious that we had to be taken down a peg. GTech somehow committed only one penalty (which was declined), despite taking out big Jon Raymon on a chop block from their center and committing several more uncalled illegal chop blocks, calling a dubious roughing the passer penalty on us while not reciprocating when Terrel Hunt received a similar if not worse blow to the head, and a halo infraction on a punt return gunner that wasn’t warranted. No googling, no searches, this is just off the top of my head ten years later, the anger I felt for such an obvious hatchet job by the ACC refsOn a rainy day.
The only SU game that I've ever walked out of... back to our tailgate, mid 3rd quarter when it was apparent that things were not going to get better
That's the night the light went out in Georgia. Raymon was such a good guy too and to have that happen really stunk.I hate to be conspiratorial, but we’d kicked NCSU’s azz the week before in Raleigh. Good for Wake making a hire so quickly. I guess it was true Currie was ready to act if Clawson decided to step down.

I don't understand why not sending a line backer on a Bobby Boucher blitz every play to blow it up wouldn't have worked.Slowmesh was awful to watch. I hope to never have to watch that crap again.
