Clemson ticket sales at the moment.

Looking at the map...I would love if some of the big blocks on the 3rd level would get broken up...even if they arent completely sold...would love to minimize the silver
I think they try to do that. If you look at the top of 317 you'll see they only make alternating rows available. If they sell, then they open more. Not a bad idea as people seated in every other row at the top will make it look more full.

I kind of get what you're saying, but who the cares what Clemson fans think? They have a nice little program there, but historically they're not in the same time zone as Syracuse. They have fewer wins overall, less than half the number of All-Americans, no Heisman winner, 6 College Football Hall of Fame inductees compared to 14 for Syracuse and no Pro Football Hall of Fame members compared to 7 for SU with Tom Coughlin soon to make it 8. They're West Virginia with fewer wins and a national championship. They're a nice little program with a good fan base; nothing more, nothing less.

On a side note, I bet we could start a thread on the basketball board making fun of the fact that they probably get 3,000-4000 to show up for the November/December cupcake games. This might be wrong because I doubt any is an actual cupcake for Clemson "basketball."

Look Clemson isn't a slouch when it comes to history ... they have finished a season ranked 26 times to our 15 and have 35 bowl appearances to our 24 and have names like John Heisman linked to their program ... these guys aren't exactly Rutgers either. I love Cuse and love our history and hope we build on it in the ACC but in 112 seasons of major football as classified as selected by the Helms, AP etc. SU is 644-450-41 (since 1899, no records in 1903-04) and yes I am aware they started playing in 1889 while Clemson in the last 112 seasons is 652-443-44 (since 1902). As a program SU has 700 wins and a whole lot of history behind it ... but Clemson does to. Also remember that Alabama's first Heisman winner was Mark Ingram ... would you consider them beneath us historically prior to him winning the Heisman?

deal on tickets has anyone posted this??

"Choose from the following offers:
• $52 ($99 value) for one Upper Sideline Preferred ticket with a $10 concession voucher
• $90 ($176 value) for one Upper Sideline Midfield Preferred ticket plus Club 44 pass
• Both packages include one glossy 8"x10" ultra-stylized artwork piece from Syracuse Steiner Collectibles commemorating Don McPherson's jersey retirement"

Since those tix are still the original price on the SU site, I'm thinking someone subsidized these.

Very, very jealous of you all. Wish I could be there Sat. Haven't been to the Dome since '91 and I miss it. I have been sacrilegious - I took my 5 year old to his first college football game in Austin TX. It's time I rectify this. He needs to see some real orange. (Other than his dad in an orange shirt yelling at the TV.) This feels like a new beginning - kind of like the '87 Penn St game.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I am jealous of your town. Love Austin. Look forward to coming back for SxSW again in March...

According to the staff member I just called, Empower has a couple hundred tickets left at $20 each spread throughout the 300 level. Some of their branches may have sold out their allotment so call ahead.

Good news!

Tix are still the same price across the board on SU site. You sure someone didn't subsidize these? Why would SU have 2 different prices for the same seats?

thats how groupon/livingsocial works... you can buy the deal or you can pay full price.

Works out perfect for the seller. get cheap marketing or sell at full price.

so do you think tickets were set aside for this?

Not set aside per se. I just did a test and the exact same section and seat number is being sold by SU for full price, so you can get the same seat from either place. Buy thru living social and they get taken off the SU link. The test I did was $150 tix thru SU but $52 thru living social. I still think someone may be subsidizing these. How can SU in good conscience sell for 2 prices? Just reduce them all if you're gonna do it quietly thru a little known site.

no - i would guess its real time and coincides with the ticketmaster numbers you are seeing.

its the same thing with a restaurant or a play. you can still buy full price at the restaurant or the box office.

Just talked to a friend in the know...tickets are selling at a high rate. SU feels a sellout is in reach if the walkup is solid on gameday.

Bottomline: I'm revising my attendance guess to 48k.

Well, the fans came through.

Good for the locals--this is exactly what we needed to [1] provide whatever meager advantage having a big crowd provides, and [2] to pack the house to leave a lasting impression on the numerous recruits who will be in attendance.
