Coach Search Options after Autry

I really hope SU can hire Jay Wright. He will give Syracuse at least five good years. At least we can recover to a credible program 100%. Any other young coaches have different degrees of risk to sink us lower.
I’ve shared this once before. I know for a fact that Jay Wright is happily retired from coaching. He loves studio work. He is not coming back. That is from the horse’s mouth.

Here's hoping.

But I'm not so sure, given historical precedent and recent reports suggesting that similar behind-the-scenes shenanigans are afoot again.
Did somebody say ‘Shananigans’?

If Hodgson ends up here. We are going to get serious talent. He’s a really good recruiter. We’ll see what assistants he gets too. He needs at least one closer on staff. If we keep ONE person on this staff I wouldn’t mind it being Straughn. He is a young coach and a really solid recruiter.

Also I’m good with getting rid of EVERYONE else. But wouldn’t mind if we kept Anthony (just perception wise would look bad if Melos kid transferred). Keep White as he’s an athletic freak ooozing potential with the right coach would killlll it. White is also a good defender, hustled and brings the energy which we need in this program. And keep Kingz if he gets another year. Everyone else, respectfully I’m fine if they leave
I very much agree with this, in relation to player retention. I very much trust Carmelo is aware of son's limitations at this level, I however firmly believe he can develop. You can tell he has definitely lost a lot of confidence and they are getting very physical with him as that is certainly in the scouting report. Stay in front of him, and he very easily can be bumped off his spot. He can definitely develop with some help and certainly strength. I do not believe Freeman is a viable option and I do not believe he can be primary in any way. More than likely unfortunate product of current system. He is not a three, and he unequivocally cannot defend at the 3,4 or 5. KA, SW Have significant defensive liabilities as well, however with the right coach, They can develop positionally if they were open, SW tremendously defensive potential

Watching this USF team make good decisions , be patient, and spot the right play even if it takes 25 seconds is a thing of beauty. I love how they rotate on D and clog the driving lanes anytime they can. You cant tell me the pedigree and style of play wouldn’t bring in big money with BH.
