This was Autry’s biggest problem IMO. He never got guys to play the way he wanted because he refused to use the bench as a motivator. His NBA predetermined rotation didn’t work in college. Players need the threat of a benching and the reward of paying time.A little of the player evaluation and alot of the coaching IMO. If these players don't play the way he wants them to play or give the effort he wants they go to the bench. If they want minutes they play hard or they get no minutes. Same thing with other high-level teams. You play the way we want you to or you don't play.
What avenues did the fanbase use to "force" the decision, and have we been doing the same? It's worth saying - last year, NC State's fanbase essentially forced their AD to hire Will Wade, he admitted that; that's how much noise there was out there.
Yes, the money people matter, but the fans are the heartbeat of a program - it's rare they're all aligned on one candidate, and that's a material point of substance for an athletic director to consider.
If “Roosevelt Bowie” is doing the hiring me have a chance. I dont think the real brain trust goes the no brainer route. It's honestly a no-brainer. Must be Hodgson.
It will be interesting and fun to come back to these takes when Hodgson is officially hired as the next SU coach. If “Roosevelt Bowie” is doing the hiring me have a chance. I dont think the real brain trust goes the no brainer route.
Email powers that be in the athletic department with evidence-backed arguments, reach out to donors, call into the local radio, post on social media, it all matters. What avenues did the fanbase use to "force" the decision, and have we been doing the same?
Anybody have Melo's phone number so I can try to convince him to jump on the Hodgson bandwagon?Email powers that be in the athletic department with evidence-backed arguments, reach out to donors, call into the local radio, post on social media, it all matters.
The more a consensus candidate is promoted, the harder it becomes for the decision makers to ignore and go against the fans' wishes, as they see the backlash they'd receive.
It’s interesting to me whether a coach can instill these characteristics in the players on his team as a coach OR if it’s a matter of a coach evaluating, when recruiting a player, whether that player is capable mentally, athletically of having those characteristics that he needs for a successful team.

If*, Syracuse won’t make it easy enough to where we know BH will be the next hcIt will be interesting and fun to come back to these takes when Hodgson is officially hired as the next SU coach.
USF - 90Who's on the #teamHodgson train. Just look at these numbers where USF ranks in all of CBB. Very impressive. Points 9th, Rebounds 2nd, Assists 32nd, Steals 17th, Blocks 39th. The Dome will be rocking. Make it happen.

Genuinely, this could not be more of a no-brainer. Keep making yourselves heard for BH.
I would bet you anything bh would give them access. He grew up watching Su.We don’t want someone with that kind of success here. What we need is someone who will give alumni and former players all the access they want.
