He will be breaking this most likely...then there will be an official announcement the next morning from the school. followed by a presser a few days later...

Try looking at it this way. Think it is Gerry and how happy you would be to be wrong. Also, Gerry isn't Red. That nightmare is behind us.

No offense but they'll give it Thamel the night before then announcement. He's been pretty good to us. So a Sunday night thing from him then Monday university news and then everyone gets a NIL push next week to get the portal rolling.

BB is the wildcard in this situation but still.

Thamel put out the Ga Tech hire before 9am yesterday, so tomorrow morning could be on the table. Or perhaps Monday morning.

But it sure seems like Thamel will break it for many reasons. Hopefully we get his tweet in the next 24ish hours.

No one here called him a genius. But would it kill you to say he has done a great job at Siena? Because he has. A school on it's ass. Loses three starters. And still has the year they had? For me, I want to see what he can do without Doty before I give him the Syracuse job. But that doesn't mean that what he has done so far isn't very impressive.

He’s currently doing a good job. Wouldn’t say great, but on a good path.

Takayo Siddle took over a UNW program that had four losing years in a row and had them 27-9 in year two winning the CBI, followed by 24-10, 21-10, 27-8 NCAAs and 27-6 this year in the NIT. Last year in the NCAAs they were within 3 of Texas Tech with 7 minutes left. He's been mentioned a couple times, but nobody seemed very excited.

Clint Sargent took over a Wright State team that had won 18 or fewer games in 3 of 4 years. Year two he's got them to 23-12, won the conference tourney, they made the dance and were down 3 to Virginia with 3 minutes left. Haven't seen him mentioned at all.

The attitude towards these guys, and rightly so, is that they've had an impressive start to their coaching careers but let them move up a level and do it there and then maybe they'd be worth consideration for the Syracuse job.

I really don't understand why Siddle hasn't been considered more seriously.

I have thought it would be Gerry once Hodgson was no longer in play. So don't count on me here. I thought it was BH's job to lose. Then, I thought it was Gerry. When I was told about Schertz, I was so excited. And once again, I thought the longer this goes, the more likely it was Schertz. But if it quick I just think it is Gerry. there are no facts behind that at all. No one has said anything to me one way or the other.

I dont have faith gmac can get it done here right now. Not the right time, too much going against him.

Problem is there are no Jay Wright, Rick Pitino, Mark Few, Nate Oats type of coach on the horizon for us. Other than Murray who has been an Assistant Coach on a 2 win championship team, all other potential candidates are at the same level or possibly slightly ahead of Gerry, but without the backing of the fan base.

Listen I think we can all come together and agree on this much: this will probably be our last big thread like this for at least a few years, hopefully 5+ years. We can also agree this thread could be ending in 24-48 hours.

I was checking the same thing but it's a totally illiquid market as far as I could tell. Gerry was at 96c yes and 97c no.
