I have thought it would be Gerry once Hodgson was no longer in play. So don't count on me here. I thought it was BH's job to lose. Then, I thought it was Gerry. When I was told about Schertz, I was so excited. And once again, I thought the longer this goes, the more likely it was Schertz. But if it quick I just think it is Gerry. there are no facts behind that at all. No one has said anything to me one way or the other.

It would make sense if Schertz is their first pick they would need to hit a certain NIL number. That takes time, They may also be trying to convince the NIL donors backing Gerry to now back Schertz. Good luck with that, Schertz did himself no favors today.
I doubt if many NIL donors follow college hoops closely. Many may not even know who Schertz is. Some may only follow the NCAAT.

I will support either but I really want GMAC.

A note that needs to be considered we have that Las Vegas tournament again this year, and quick turnaround, this might not be the best time to bring in Gerry. As we saw this year , played well hopes were up and everything went south after the 1st game.

I do, I think it will be the deciding factor. The money is behind the emotion. And lots of people think more NIL means you win right or wrong, that is your call (I wont get into that conversation again) but I think that will be the decision. Only way is if we can get money that is emotionally tied to GMac to move over to whoever we hire.

I think the opposite. I think the public and emotional pressure will be too much.

I think it's probably harder to peer pressure someone who doesn't know everyone as well yet. I think he's more likely to focus on the process.

He already said no once when he verbally agreed to the contract with STL. He reached out. I don't think he would magically turn it down again if he were the one who reached out after verbally agreeing.

I am going to guess it's more us trying to sell the whale gmac-only NIL donors to go for Schertz... No idea if they'll be able to do that.

If the donors are open to a rational argument, they will support schertz. If they aren't open to that, Schertz is out.

Prolly what they told Schertz as well. If you will take the job for offer X, let us work on our NIL donors to hopefully get them there... No promises, but we will try our hardest.

I must say it does bother me that Schertz agreed to a contract extension, then decided to go to another school. I know it is a business, but that just seems cold.

But I've been slightly skeptical about this Scherz news, and I say that without shooting any of the Messengers in any way, shape, or form.

I'm just so used to things not going our way, I don't want to get my hopes up. So we'll probably end up settling.

No worries, I could care less. I was spelling Blair's first name wrong this morning and realized it. I just figured some of the people getting offended at anyone questioning GMac's readiness would lose their mind at his name being spelled wrong, but I'm pleasantly surprised they did actually take it in stride!
