Bring Pitino home. A guy who can mantain relevancy, can flat out coach still and will take the job for the right amt of cash.
How many more years does he coach though? At this point, get someone who is younger and ready like Langel or Hodgson IMO.Bring Pitino home. A guy who can mantain relevancy, can flat out coach still and will take the job for the right amt of cash.
Going to keep saying it over and over. The Anthony family needs to pump the NIL machine for the next 25 years and put their name on some more buildings. Melo has hundreds of millions and LaLa is hanging out with the Kardashians.Let’s be real, if Red can’t coach up Freeman and Moore why would we think White and Kayan would make any difference?
They’re good prospects but shouldn’t be the reason for Red to get another year. Time to cut the cord and find a new coach. We’re prolonging the inevitable if they allow Red to stay for another year.
Reading about this guy now from his upbringing to his success so far plus all the background you gave.I’m all on board for Bryan Hodgson. The guy is a top recruiter AND can coach! He’s young (only 37) and already has a ton of connections. For everyone who wanted Nate Oates, Hodgson is perfect since our chances of luring Oates are in the rearview. Hodgson is from Olean and went to Fredonia, so he knows the Northeast very well and recruited a ton of talent to Bama. He would lock up the Northeast (like Fran has done in football) and would also bring in Canadian talent. I’m 100% in on Hodgson!
Shaka and Sean are not in play. Reds our coach next year. It is what it is until Melo changes his mind.
We couldn’t even get the pool table to be our coach let alone Ricky himself .Bring Pitino home. A guy who can mantain relevancy, can flat out coach still and will take the job for the right amt of cash.
I agree that winning at Colgate in the PL is a totally different animal, even from other mid-major conferences. Different... not necessarily meaning more impressive though. I think he'd be good as an assistant, but not HC, which would probably be necessary for him to keep moving up the ladder to anything but a dumpster fire situation. That's probably why he hasn't left Colgate; he probably is comfortable in that situation and doesn't want to be a journeyman for a few more years unless its the right situation. It’s a fair question but he was linked to the ND job when that opened up. Maybe he is happy in central NY? There’s sometimes more that goes into this stuff. All I am saying is that it’s difficult to win at Colgate, even compared to other mid majors. His track record of patriot league championships is impressive
For another year yea. Play the long game dude.Great so now the program is going to be held hostage by Melo ?
Boeheim left the program in ruins.Bottom Line Red is bad. We hired the wrong assistant. And for all you Boeheim haters, you are getting what you wished for.
For another year yea. Play the long game dude.
Melo is worth 170 Mil and LaLa 30 Mil. Maybe you didn't get the message that we need the money.
I'm actually more excited to see some of that LaLa money. This is her baby boy going off to college and he wants to bring Syracuse back. She has all these new business ventures going with Kim Kardashian. They need to make it rain in CNY this portal offseason.
I really look at coaching sometimes thru the intangibles and mental aspects… I know Gmac is young and probably not completely ready but from the little I’ve seen at Siena he has “it” in coaching that I don’t think Red has … Id hate to miss that boat on Gmac … What I mean is Gmac as we know is an ultra competitive person and from watching his games at Siena I see that in his coaching .. He gets fiery and isn’t going to lose .. He will exhaust all avenues to try to win even when his team is less talented .. They play hard and Gerry looks locked in in bench .. Red when they show him on camera looks overwhelmed and lost with answers .. That body language matters .. if I see it the players surely do ..JB was extremely competitive and that’s how he made Cuse a consistent power until he lost a step of that .. Gmac has that fire and watching games so far seems to handle the in game coaching … Early feel right now tells me he’s is gonna be a star as a coach .. In comparison to Melo and Kyian .. is Kyian a program changer with talent ,, prob not but he is Melos son and has a relationship to winning a championship for us .. We couldn’t lose that … Gmac has the same for the history of Syracuse .. He as a freshmen when he could have been too green, helped carry us to a National title in 2003 then held the team Together when Melo left .. he wouldn’t loseGood gawd no. Sorry he is not the answer At All. Hard stop.
The long game says to cut Red loose ASAP so that we don't lose more money over the long run. Red clearly can't manage the talent he has; even if, and that's a BIG IF, those recruits actually step foot on campus after what happens this season, they aren't going to stick around to keep losing when they can have their pick of winning destinations and basically name their price. For another year yea. Play the long game dude.

Yep. Say it loud and proud, and ignore it if anyone tells you that you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. Both of these things can be true.Love Red. This year is inexcusable. Cut the cord and reset.
Why would Melo & Lala want their baby boy playing in front of empty dome with a team hoping to be 500? Wouldnt he want Cuse winning and on national TV with proven coach? Thats what I would want for my son - it wouldnt be playing for losing team on ACCNXFor another year yea. Play the long game dude.

Just saying you want Blue Blood or Top 25 results on middle of the pack NIL funding. Are you noticing some sort of dramatic influx in NIL that we're all not aware of?I don’t buy it that the school collects welfare checks… been hearing that song and dance forever even though the basketball program is one of the highest revenue generating teams in the country.
Who would coach? Time to move on from red but not mid seasonThe long game says to cut Red loose ASAP so that we don't lose more money over the long run. The way this team is moving I don’t think they could get into a Pluto TV rerun in a few yearsWhy would Melo & Lala want their baby boy playing in front of empty dome with a team hoping to be 500? Well dude he's already committed. That's why we need to keep the Anthony's close to home and not be shipping their NIL $'s to USC. I don't get what you're trying to say. I'm saying it's LaLa' baby boy she is going to open the checkbook. Why would Melo & Lala want their baby boy playing in front of empty dome with a team hoping to be 500? End of the current season, not midseason. There is enough talent on the roster for this squad to go on a run, although I think the chances of that are close to zero given how it is managed.Who would coach? Time to move on from red but not mid season
If the years aren't guaranteed, it's not a contract. It's make believe.
Who are you installing tomorrow Mr ASAP? You got the buyout money ready plus the money needed for a legit contender coach? The long game says to cut Red loose ASAP so that we don't lose more money over the long run. I admire the optimism, but unless things improve significantly by the end of the season, I don't see him anywhere but USC next fall.Well dude he's already committed. No former players.Who should JW realistically look at?
Probably looking hard at mid major HCs is my guess. Too risky to take an assistant and too cheap to lure away a big name coach.
