100% all in on Hodgson. In his first year at USF, he only has 3 conference losses. One by 2 pts in double OT to UAB, 1 point loss to Wichita and 1 point loss at Temple

I don't think he is the best coach but I like him the best for us because his style is completely opposite of the way we have done things for so long and I think our program needs that sort of shake-up in the worst way. We need to modernize the program from the inside out.

The way that USF spaces the floor, attacks, and just keeps coming is a lot of fun to watch.

Missing the point. Hodgson is maximizing the talent he does have. He gets his best scorers shots in places where they are most efficient based on analytics. If he had an effective post up player, they would feature that.

They are 10th in the nation in scoring. That's more than just having "a couple of reliable 3 point shooters."

Missing the point. Hodgson is maximizing the talent he does have. He gets his best scorers shots in places where they are most efficient based on analytics. If he had an effective post up player, they would feature that.

You have to assume that he would be able to recruit slightly better athletes on average at Syracuse than at USF (otherwise we don’t improve much). This is also his first year at USF vs Autry’s 3rd go round. I think his team plays differently, much less iso than our offense.

Do you ever watch UConn?
Their offense looks distinctly different to me.

USF, not so much. Lob feeds to athletic bigs. Not a ton of backcuts, screens.
Lots of motion at the top, but with guys who can actually make threes.

Our defense looked pretty good pre-season, playing against teams like Memphis.
They aren't especially big inside. They have a couple very good players.
We thought we had a couple, too.
