I don't see how that would be true.It was probably worse even 3 years ago. We can’t lose out on Hodgson.

True,. That is good. It makes his buyout that much more manageable.Red isn’t making $3m a year. I can assure that
It's an odd circumstance when the person who wants the job the most is also the most qualified. It almost feels too easy. Hopefully, Wildhack doesn't overthink this one.Well, I will give you this, in my opinion, he is the best of the lot by a large margin. Could someone else emerge . Of course. I hope so.
And unless something changes dramatically, people aren’t going to be thrilled with the candidates and I’m here for all those reactions on this board. We’re going to have a lot to discuss soon. Is there a firework that doesn’t explode emoji on here? Lolwell, it isn't valued at what we all we would have thought seeing who is interested right now from what I hear. I'm surprised and sad about it.

I will tell you this, other people are maneuvering. There isn't white smoke coming out of the chimney yetConnect the dots on who’s involved on search committees and what has been put out there already (including national media) and you’ll get your answer….
It’s close to a done deal IMHO.
Awww c'mon, drop it!Was
Was I not clear. Think say 12 years ago. Who would have wanted our job at that time. Now, the names I am hearing, it makes me shudder. And while the board is in love with BH, I think part of that is that he 1. isn't Red. And 2. gets his team to play hard. But 12 or 13 years ago, would a guy that hasn't one a game in the NCAA tournament be enough? I don't think so. And the other candidates, oh boy. I am actually glad the rest of the board isn't hearing the things I am. I said before, I would share them but it would be a neutron bomb to the board.
What? 12 years ago the list started and ended with Hop. We were told that’s who we could get and there was zero chance that SU would pay for someone like Stevens, Donovan, Jay Wright etc. Which is why they’re still joke names on this board a decade later. Was I not clear. I think our job isn't as desired as much as we would have thought and hoped. Let me put it this way, if BH didn't want the job as badly as he does and wanted to pass on it, people here would be suicidal on the names I have heard.I do have a question, do you think they are keeping their eyes off the big targets in the coaching search so BH is the best because that is what/who our donors want? Or do they think the "lesser" names are actually good coaches? The second would scare me more than the first
The program had no idea what it was doing 3 years ago. Red may not be a good coach, but he helped modernize the program.I don't see how that would be true.

Makes me more nervous for this AD search if we are gonna be very disappointed if it’s anyone but Hodgson.I will tell you this, other people are maneuvering. There isn't white smoke coming out of the chimney yet
SU better be careful not to upset their biggest donor either.I will tell you this, other people are maneuvering. There isn't white smoke coming out of the chimney yet
The list did start and end with Hop. However, others wanted the job. I would kill for the people we weren't going to give the job to back then. And no, Stevens and Donovan and Wright weren't on the list of potential applicants but they were others out there that would have killed for the job back then. What? 12 years ago the list started and ended with Hop. Eh, I don’t care anymore than as a fan. Im not going to lose my job because SU collapsed a gold mine and saving $2k a year on seasons is another fishing trip. So yay me.people here would be suicidal on the names I have heard
But if BH does and we hire him, who cares really. Just like how it was for UConn, this is a last stand type of situation.I think our job isn't as desired as much as we would have thought and hoped. Let me put it this way, if BH didn't want the job as badly as he does and wanted to pass on it, people here would be suicidal on the names I have heard.
Ed Cooley? Consider that a dodged bullet. The list did start and end with Hop. However, others wanted the job. I would kill for the people we weren't going to give the job to back then. And no, Stevens and Donovan and Wright weren't on the list of potential applicants but they were others out there that would have killed for the job back then.
BH will be a fine hire. Not concerned.
He wants to give 10 million to hoops he can name the coach. So far, he hasn't given a dime to hoop. I don't think the school is going to held hostage to any donor. I will say this, there are other donors that are potentially being lined up for another candidate. I wouldn't bet against BH. But I wouldn't bet on him either.SU better be careful not to upset their biggest donor either.
That’s where I’m at. I don’t know if it will be a success or failure or somewhere in between. But I would be excited about it going in.BH will be a fine hire. Not concerned.
The scariest thing about that would be that even the suicidal ideations names would all be far better coaches than what we have now...I think our job isn't as desired as much as we would have thought and hoped. Let me put it this way, if BH didn't want the job as badly as he does and wanted to pass on it, people here would be suicidal on the names I have heard.
