Coach Search Options after Autry

Not sure I agree with this. To a certain point yes, but if it was true UK would be boat racing everyone this year.

You need to be able to land a certain fundraising threshold for NIL etc.

Once you can hit that strata, the burden shifts hugely to coaching.

AND, you can argue that great coaching would drive future fundraising vs someone that can just do an initial fundraising spike and then fall off a cliff.

How many players has Bryan “the guppy” Hodgson developed into NBA draft picks?
Goofy? Guppy? What? I’m too lazy to check Alabama’s roster when he was there but I am sure he did there. As head coach he coached at Arkansas St for a short time and just started at USF so not sure what you are expecting? And who exactly do you think should be our coach? The guy who washed out at Washington?

that's without rev sharing and is NIL only but is a bit low. we're about $4.5ish so very high end of tier 3 or very low end of tier 2. or between them
And that list omits 4 conference schools. Of the four SMU is likely Tier 2. Don’t know about FSU, Notre Dame or Virginia Tech.

What a weird way to phrase this. He coached 6 guys at Bama that got drafted - 4 of them being first round picks. I'm sure you'll say that he didn't "develop" any of them while providing zero proof. Syracuse has had 5 guys get drafted in the last 11 years. None since 2020. So it seems like he has a much better record of developing players, comparatively speaking.

What is goofball Hodgson’s record against the P4??????

Sounds like you have a serious problem with Hodgson at a personal level.

I'm sure you'll change your tune like the others here soon enough.

LOL. I didn't even notice that.

The number two overall pick in the draft, Brandon Miller, whom he recruited and developed, is also averaging 20 a game in the NBA in his third year among multiple other guys…

Josh Primo, his recruit, went 12th overall.

And another kid he recruited as a JUCO PLAYER , Keon Ellis, is now playing regular minutes in the NBA.

Yeah, but who does Hodgson think he is?

So he hasn't produced a #1 pick yet? Seems like a big red flag lol

NIL > Head Coach
Raise the dollars for the program and the players AND COACH will come.
Didn’t we do just that this season? We got an infusion of money, signed precisely the roster that the staff wanted… and kersplatt. The horrendous coaching dragged down the talented roster.

Man, it’s like this season never happened.

I think people really undervalue how good a coach Todd Golden is. They play fast, hard and really share the ball. If money wasn’t an option, I’d take I’m in a heartbeat.
At the time, I had a minor hope that SU would hire Golden, but Florida was waaaay faster on the draw.

If they haven't gone 40-0 in Q1 games, won a natty or least a couple of F4s, and haven't put a dozen guys in the NBA lottery with a POTY, than they ain't good enough for SU. So that's why we're going with Hopkins because everybody who hasn't done the aforementioned are all the same and he's an alum as the tie breaker.

Thank you, good work everyone, take the rest of the week off.

I don't agree with it either.

I can't wrap my head around why everyone thinks that the only path toward NCAA basketball success is to go "buy" a team.

That doesn't even work for most of the teams that try to do it that way.

A far better strategy is to get a winning "system" in place, which would mean coach >> NIL.

They are both important, and not mutually exclusive.
