Might as well call him Bob Woodward!Did Cooper Andrews save Syracuse sports?

If this article is accurate, we could very well be the top opening. I would be shocked if Schertz doesn't listen if we want him.![]()
2026 college basketball coaching carousel hot seat list: The power-conference jobs that could flip this March
The past two years saw 29 high-majors change coaches. This cycle won't be as busy, but there's still some unavoidable change on the waywww.cbssports.com
Syracuse expected to make an AD hire before March 10th. The start of the ACC tournament. Norlander implores Syracuse to make an outside hire.
They will never acknowledge their unwillingness to push to compete. They’ll PR spin it as they are going all in.Yup. The next few seasons, across both football and men’s hoops, will likely determine if SU can compete in the new world of professional college athletics.
I just hope we have the sense to acknowledge if we can’t, instead of stringing everyone along for years and having them throw good money after bad.

But if Heather Lyke gets hired we’ll know they are not serious about giving us the resources to compete.
Great to know !!!!Lyke isn't getting hired now. That story is going viral now. Over 300k views.
Great to know !!!!
I’m still about 80 pages back on this thread
The story is in the AD thread I believe
Top opening prestige, wise, maybe not pay wiseIf this article is accurate, we could very well be the top opening. I would be shocked if Schertz doesn't listen if we want him.
Pitt-Syracuse unite
this aged wellsilver lining is that the world could end before next season.
Norlander, who wrote this article, also tweeted this on BlueSky recently. He thought we would be the #1 opening based on a variety of factors. I posted it earlier but you may have missed it in the 14,000 posts over the past few weeks. Lol.If this article is accurate, we could very well be the top opening. The social media dialogue with them is funny lol. I'm rooting for USF in March, everything short of a contract extension that is lol.
Surely the administration is making calls. I would be absolutely shocked if there aren’t discussions taking place now. That said, unlikely that he or anyone else has been confirmed as the new HC. The question is, is there a scenario where we have a coach committed silently before the tournament kicks off…If Cuse2023 is correct, Hodgson isn't signing a contract extension with them, and if we haven't locked him up before March Madness starts then that is a terrible move and miscalculation on our part, because if they do win their conference tournament, they will be one of the media favorites for the 12/11 seed upset, because they score so much and play pressure defense. That media attention will draw in other universities, so if he is our guy, we need to lock it up before then. We have just over 2 weeks to make that happen behind the scenes.

Yeah could you imagine if they did a search in 2017 after the final four run what kind of candidates they would have had then too? I know hop was supposed to get the job then but goodness that’s where all this went wrong in my opinion
The only definite lock him up is by signing a contract. Which he can’t do prior to the end of their season unless he plans on resigning before the NCAA tournament. If Cuse2023 is correct, Hodgson isn't signing a contract extension with them, and if we haven't locked him up before March Madness starts then that is a terrible move and miscalculation on our part, because if they do win their conference tournament, they will be one of the media favorites for the 12/11 seed upset, because they score so much and play pressure defense. Verbal agreements can absolutely happen before a season ends. It happened multiple times last year. Obviously, nothing can be made “official” or signed until the timing is right, so it really depends on how you define “lock him up.” If a verbal agreement is in place, I’d consider that locked up.
For example, Darian DeVries’ deal was reportedly agreed to before the season ended and then announced after the final game. The same thing happened with Ben McCollum to Iowa; the agreement was done, and it was announced right after Drake’s season ended.
Call it whatever you want, but these things are often decided well before the official announcement is made and the pen is officially put to paper.
