Watching the UVA game. UVA has had a remarkable turnaround under Ryan Odom. He’s probably our best comparable for Red’s replacement. Odom earns $3.25M plus bonus incentives. Has a contract thru 2031. We need to come to the table with a similar compensation structure to attract the right coach.

If we've really been sitting on our hands and not backchannelling with target coach agents, well that's unfortunate.

At the same time, the new AD will want to plot his own path with this hire and that is to be expected...

Was just hoping Wildhack and his team had worked a target list, done some agent backchannelling, and was prepared with a hand-the-baton pack of info with ranked targets and discussion status/deets for the new AD to immediately get up to speed on... Maybe the new AD goes in a different direction altogether, but at least we wouldn't starting from ground zero, while other schools actively negotiate with agents for our likley HC targets.

Getting a late start now isn't the end of the world (could be later) but the liklihood we get caught out with no chair when the music stops, with our prime targets deciding to go elsewhere to schools in advanced negotiations with them, goes up with every passing day.

Still time, but the new AD and his search team are going to have to hit the ground running, be efficient, and work quickly on this if we are starting from ground zero.

I think this is a huge problem that Wildhack decided retire when he did and not hire the basketball coach. I think he’s much more up to speed on what is needed than a newcomer who doesn’t know the university or the situation or the danger of hiring a retread alum like Hop. An outsider isn’t going to understand the dynamics. Wildhack should have stayed two more years.

They should announce Red being let go this week so people can pay respect to him at the last home game for his Syracuse career not just as a coach but for all he has done. If they don't announce before the game their is a strong possibility that all the 500 people in attendance might be chanting FIRE RED all game. Nobody wants that for his last game Nobody

JJs friends and family, Carmelo, and a few others. LOL There will be some there, I am sure not many but some. lol

I think Red is pretty down I don't want it to get even worse for him and his last memory for a home game people chanting FIRE RED all game. He doesn't need that. We don't need that either.

The players, especially Kyle and Kingz, deserve a send off.

We kind of knew what we had in Year 1. Most of the decent teams blew them out and one of their wins that made it 20 on the season was D2 Chaminade. But the excuses were that it was first year, the roster was a mess, they weren't his guys, they didn't have NIL money, etc.
