Presumably from the same Providence account? They were "insider information" that the Patriots were signing AJ Brown and a bunch of other players, none of them happened.

Oh yes, I should have mentioned that.Presumably from the same Providence account?
O can't see either of these posts, does anyone know what they said
Of course. It's just that none of us can hold our wad.Wouldn’t BH or any other coach “playing meaningful games in March” and taking a new job want things kept quiet until his season is over….also, he would want to tell his players first?
Bingo.
Also, all of this money comes from the same place = wealthy boosters.
The direct payments that schools can pay to players is not going to come from their general fund or media revenue. Schools are soliciting donors to fund it.
NIL is also funded by donors.
When people suggest that hoops-onlies have an advantage because "they don't have to pay football" it ignores the fact that the money is all coming from the same place = people. Hoops-onlies are inherently smaller schools with fewer alumni that give.
Maybe a few hoops-onlies have a whale who's happy to donate $10 million a year, but I doubt it.
one caveat. yes its the same people donating to nil or revenue sharing. but i dont know about other schools but su didnt get anywhere near $20m in donations for rev sharing. so some $$$ does have to be budgeted by su.Bingo.

Man if Hodg goes to Providence some people are going to have to answer some questions
Important callout, thanks.one caveat. yes its the same people donating to nil or revenue sharing. but i dont know about other schools but su didnt get anywhere near $20m in donations for rev sharing. so some $$$ does have to be budgeted by su.
I think if Hodgson goes to Providence that means Syracuse picked GMac and there are going to be problems up on the Hill. People higher up than on this message board will have to answer a ton of questions.
Which honestly should not be any issue given the media rights payouts we get annually and that have increased ~$4.5M per year with last payout around $44/$45M. There's likely another bump in our next media payment.one caveat. yes its the same people donating to nil or revenue sharing. but i dont know about other schools but su didnt get anywhere near $20m in donations for rev sharing. so some $$$ does have to be budgeted by su.
Important callout, thanks.
I wonder where the differential is coming from at SU?

IF Hodgson goes to Providence over SU there will be a multitude of factors at play beyond SU picking Gmac over him. Need to let it play out a bit.

dont know where in the budget it come but as others have already said much of it from acc payouts.Important callout, thanks.

Trying to keep up, so is the search really just down to Hodgson and GMac?IF Hodgson goes to Providence over SU there will be a multitude of factors at play beyond SU picking Gmac over him. Need to let it play out a bit.
Correct that is why I said people on the Hill will have tons of questions to answer not the people on this message board.

they've been very tight lipped on the budget hit but in theory, it's probably close to the $20M. Most folks don't want to fund revenue sharing or NIl. They can try to claim donations went up after they launched that campaign but it's probably hard to earmark things.dont know where in the budget it come but as others have already said much of it from acc payouts.
And what happens with schools (like our friends in New Jersey) that are publicly in a huge deficit. How do they even pay kids at all from the revenue share side.
It would be nice if the NIL side was truly audited for the deals they put through, but I can't imagine they will be. Feels like a rubber stamp for those with big enough checkbooks.
He’s not and this is just rumor mongering. Another reason to blame JB for somethingWhat and why would JB push SH? Just idiotic.
They keep running deficits and get subsidized by the state. And what happens with schools (like our friends in New Jersey) that are publicly in a huge deficit. How do they even pay kids at all from the revenue share side.

Right but I am just saying it's not improbable that SU could choose Hodgson and he still ends up at Providence. Even though I think SU would be a clear choice there some rumblings out there about finances etc.
Vanderbilt coach?Blair injects an unknown dynamic into the search. I would suspect a potential mystery candidate and Hop is still in play though I think clearly on the periphery.
